I've lived in 3 houses over a span of roughly 20 years (not counting rentals), and I've planted trees at each one. It's likely this is the last home I'll buy, and I've planted the most here - around 10 so far. I may add a few more next year. It makes me a little sad to think that I won't live long enough to see them fully mature. But I'll enjoy and benefit from their presence all my days.They say the best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago; the next best time is today. #trees š² š³

@tomw My understanding was that you can set up a totally free site, and you don't have to monetize if you don't want to.In that respect, it doesn't seem all too different from Blogspot. But maybe things have changed recently.

@tomw I think I created an account but haven't used it yet for anything, so I can't say how hard they push on upselling the paid model. Obviously they want as many users as possible to monetize because that's how they turn a profit (and subsidize the free accounts).But the paywall is still up to the discretion of the account holder, isn't it? With the steep decline in journalism as a viable profession, I can't fault a writer for wanting to make a living.

@tomw I'm highly sympathetic to the idea that information wants to be free. I hate running into pay walls. But the practical side is somebody has to pay for the work involved in producing professional quality journalism, just like someone writing a well-researched book that took years to create needs to eat.I don't claim to know the solution, but it's a real dilemma in this day and age.

@grammargirl I'm not a fan of video, especially when it comes to podcasts. I'm usually listening to them while on my treadmill, driving or doing yard work - places where video is a pointless distraction. š¤·āāļø

@catnip @Jaycee I generally use tags for photo locations, or include the info in the post itself. A lot of photographers seem to consider that unimportant or want to keep it secret for whatever reason. Iām pretty much obsessed with documenting details.
