       @grammargirl I find this when reading headlines involving court case outcomes or laws. It always fails to not confuse me to such a degree that I can't not not follow the logic. It's annoying!

       @grammargirl Double negatives are also a scourge in software. Often you see something like this in a software's configuration file:enable-post-editing = truedisable-post-deleting = falseNotice the *combination *of single- and double-negative lagnuage.It just breaks my mind, and misconfiguring something because of this can break the app for your users.

It's been one of my pet peeves for years.Another example of the fallout from the destruction of language -- whether deliberate or through lazy writers.Also I suspect a cascading outcome of the deliberately misleading writing of bills by lobbyists and partisans -- generally on the right.Thank YOU for calling it out. 🥥

       @grammargirl Oh my gosh #ThankYou !I have to read the same sentence 5 times to decode.It used to be just ballot amendments that I would need a team to explain. Now I can’t get through a seemingly simple story without second guessing myself.
