@tante @janl Nice tip, and a good write up from @mjg59 I am still stuck on a grub with no luks2 and need to decide whether to reconfigure my partition structure or just stick with the “a casual thief is going to put zero effort into this” threat model

@Teri_Kanefield @donmelton I think some fail to remember that a settlement can only occur if Dominion also agrees to it…

PETG printing crew: What’s the move for these first layer artifacts? Subsequent monotonic layers don’t show this, they’re nice and even. I’m getting a good impression off the textured plate, which makes me think z-height is right. (Second attached photo)First layer speed is 20mm/s, nozzle temp 230°, bed temp 85° @3dprinting #3Dprinting

Made plant markers for the garden. Printed them in #PETG. No idea how these are going to hold up…I’m not expecting much. I don’t have the setup or the materials for ABS but if I like these maybe that’s where I’ll go next. @3dprinting #3Dprinting #Gardening

@mansr @dangoodin A personal rule of thumb is that if I start my post with “for better or for worse”, I have already gone off the rails and need to reconsider. We don’t need to do the worse thing.

I knew they served those little boxes of milk at school. I did not know how well Dairy had integrated it self into the USDA regulatory framework:* schools “must not directly or indirectly restrict the sale or marketing of fluid milk at any time or in any place”* “program operators are not to promote or offer water or any other beverage as an alternative selection to fluid milk in their reimbursable meal”“Good trouble” indeed. Just spent a week away enjoying nature and removed from technology. It was a good reset.

Can @lisamelton be considered critical fedi infrastructure at this point?

@matt @ruari That rear rack looks entirely unsuited for carrying a person and I wouldn’t put my kids on it.My personal preference is to avoid any kind of bolt on frame if you want to put people on it. My Yuba Mundo (and there are many others) has the rack as a welded, integral portion of the frame. The idea of getting a fat tired ebike to haul your kid is a great one, just need to make sure it’s a good safe option for precious cargo like that.

A local donated their large, expensive properties to the city with the intent that they be turned into parks. Dear Donor, I applaud you for not selling out for the millions this land is worth. One of the properties came with a beautiful 1400sqft treehouse built for the donors’ grand childrenUnfortunately the city has no idea what to do with it and has only show it in private until a random 5 hour window today when it was open to the public. I’m glad I got to sneak in for a few minutes.
