I am not yet a full on #commandline #poweruser but I am gravitating towards that direction. I currently use Console because I love how simple and beautiful it is but I am checking out Black Box as well and like it even better so far.

@TheEvilSkeleton @usebottles I guess users sometimes feel like the co-creating conductors of the development orchestra. 🫣 Maybe developers should not take such feedback too personally, but use it solely for decision making. Something else from someone who's not a developer, just out of interest: Is it generally more fun to maintain an app with #electron than with #gtk4 / #libadwaita? PD: If I'm not mistaken, @mirkobrombin is planning to work on a new GTK4 based frontend later on.

@aj Thanks for sharing! 🙌 I guess people are complaining about a certain lack of presence at low frequencies. I guess I will have to go listen to some in a store somewhere. I also read that your OpenRun Pros are considered to be one of the best of the models currently available.

One thing I notice when reading about people's problems #switching to #linuxaudio is that their attempts/workflows often seem quite complex.To avoid setbacks and frustration, my suggestion would be to start simple and accept limitations in the beginning, get to know the system better, and then aim for more complex setups as your know-how grows.

@nielso I also find #pipewire to be better than #coreaudio on macOS.Many of the things I used to do on macOS with some helper apps, I now do out of the box on #linux.And yes, in many of the "polished" apps that are used on Windows or macOS, I think a lot of the complexity (but also flexibility) is probably kept away from the users, which may lead to small successes faster, but doesn't necessarily promote the underlying understanding of what's actually going on, if that makes any sense.
