@tuxedocomputers I liked it at the time, even the idea of personalize them.On servers it should not be present at all; you need to see what's happening at boot time.

@OpenComputeDesign 2001 me says "go have fun". Hated when some teacher moved us to visual C++.

@OpenComputeDesign Mostly bad design, perhaps? Apple had it when people couldn't hold their phones because they'd shortcut the antenna. Placing the antenna for those kind of devices is surely a differential between some more dollars spent on engineering-based design.Just guessing.

@OpenComputeDesign ask yourself why are you doing the mix in the first place. Are you gonna sell it? Or maybe you want it to be cool? Depending on the answer your actions may vary ;)

@BrodieOnLinux if you have been using Windows long enough, finding a stable, light and versatile version able to run in a VM with 192MB of RAM, you're always tempted to stay with the comfortable option. Cooking with wood might seem like caveman stuff, but sometimes you stick to the nice thing you found but don't dare to lose

@BrodieOnLinux you need to understand that, just like businesses keep from changing COBOL code sure to TCO, individuals face the cost of moving, including the intangibles like Uncertainty of finding out whether things improve.I work in Cybersecurity and I consider your idea a basic security measure for life, but this is too blame on providers that failed to make it easy.Your train of thought is the same that justifies people in USA thinking they MUST have the latest iphone.

@Linux_in_a_Bit they bought McDonnell but it was Boeing management who was scraped. Mcd way of doing things sacrificed engineering standards.A real shame.

@BrodieOnLinux interesting, as a lot of projects also use "contribute" on different requests from users. Sort of a speech enabling them to get resources/free help on some way. I think there can be a middle ground, where we acknowledge a leadership but (as always) we always have the option to contribute IN ANY CAPACITY we are capable of, unlike closed software where all they want to receive is money. The only limitation is our actual ability (we have to be good enough).

@OrbitalMartian when I try to understand a code decision, the commit message can be very helpful to get the context of it and its purpose. If multiple changes went together, make a small list. That what seems to work for me

So, now our PRs at work are automatically checked by Claude (the anthropic thing), commenting suggestions to improve the PR.The thing hallucinates paths and code to say they are wrong and I should change them.FUCKING. DUMBASS. That would be my answer to these comments.

@Linux Not worthy. If you need/want the very low latency of being close to resources ensuring fair play, get a console or a valve console or set up something exclusively for gaming yourself. Isolate the risk.
