@lauren No place is perfect, I guess, but being better than current Twitter isn't hard :) However, since this is a community driven, open project, the main driver for the devs isn't "exponential user growth". This may be why the onboarding process looks the way it does. I trust that it will become easier over time. Building a robust network like this is hard work, with many competing priorities. Must say I agree with you on the silliness of debating it SHOULD be hard though...

@lowqualityfacts I've been WFH almost exclusively for the past 3 years, and several times a week before that for many years.The times when face-to-face interactions are super valuable is when you join a new team. I'm in consulting, so that happens quite frequently for me. Spending some time in F2F workshops, doing some in-person kick-of / team building DOES lay a great foundation for the team's success. However, this can easily be done in a week or two and the team can revert to WFH mode.

@mansr @billgoats Disagree, because when you put it in, you already know which disk you are holding. Label up because you kept dozens of disks on your desk in a small plastic box. You'd flip through them like you would with vinyl records, until you found the one you wanted.

@matt As a Norwegian, I am super biased here, but I sure love 17. Mai :)My feeling is that it is a very inclusive celebration, as it is arranged in large part around the schools. I love seeing happy kids of all colors, side by side with their classmates, all dressed up in traditional Norwegian clothing, waving the flag. Culturally, the importance of the day is hard to overstate. The love for our royals reach back, at least, to WW2 when the broadcasts from London kept hope alive.

@KimCrayton1 Please accept my sincere apology for that post.The point I was trying to make was how so many people are STILL being forced to work long hours in hard jobs for very little money or other benefits. Also wo any job security. I saw this as current system of oppression that is affecting the population, of course very different from slavery but with similar goals.Again, I am sorry for my ill considered toot, white boy quietly fucking off...
