@nextcloud The sign up processes is rather convoluted if one is trying to find a cloud storage provider. Then when a free account is setup, adding paid features usually means another round of account creation. All while there isn’t really any simple launch page. Some of these account pages need to be bookmarked or you’ll never find your way back (I exaggerate).The average person wanting to setup cloud storage is going to be scared away.

#Jellyfin is really fantastic. What a great gift for music fans (and movie fans too). Thanks to anyone here who has contributed to this project.I can't endorse this enough. There were a few hurdles along the way, but well worth the investment of time.

@Tesseks I think Linux Mint is fantastic. I originally tested about a dozen distros to see which was a good fit for how I work, and decided to start with it. I thought maybe I would end up migrating to something else, but it's just simply a great, elegant, clean, effective, flexible, get out of your way, distro.

@BrodieOnLinux A great discussion. I do think eventually this discussion will move beyond Wayland verses X11 desktops, and more into how well Wayland supports XWayland, and therefore all the X11 applications that need to run well in Wayland. This is an area that I think KDE Plasma does a really good job at. But, I think it's very difficult to grasp how many applications are still coded for X11.

@Gargron This is about a platform mandating DRM, to control/manipulate revenue streams.I think Google (and Apple) are fully capable to manage platform security without gatekeeping access to our devices. They could improve OS immutability, or better admin rights without root privileges. As irritating as they can be, even the banks have developed secure financial platforms that still allow us to purchase WHAT we want, from WHO we want.#OpenSource #NoDRM #DeGoogle #GrapheneOS #DeApple #AOSP
