Well, even if Threads abandoned ActivityPub down the line, where we would end up is exactly where we are now. XMPP did not exist on its own outside of nerd circles, while ActivityPub enjoys the support and brand recognition of Mastodon.Shut the fuck up, Eugen.

Regularly seeing Western chauvinists throw shade on African or Asian accomplishments or endeavors with rhetoric such as: "we did it first" or "we taught them how to do that". It doesn't matter. It's completely irrelevant if you've done something before or taught someone how to do a thing---it does nothing to detract from the accomplishment of performing a task or earning an achievement, in a repeatable way, on one's own, without any further guidance or assistance.
