W3W finally looking like ending is a good thing. hey fedi hive mind - has anyone made a bicycle trailer for towing a kayak/canoe? thinking 5 to 5.5m ish sea kayak or racing boat, max load around 30kgcurrent design thoughts lead to a BoB style hitch for even load distribution mated to something based on a two wheeled kiddo or dog trailer. thanks for some super quick responses! and really great to see so much bike hauling of kayaks - that is really encouraging. I've got an important design constraint I forgot to mention - the kayak cannot be a structural element.I'll sketch up what's in my mind when I get home...

Finally started work on compiling all the under-sea-ice stickCam videos and found this gem. It might be important to note that the on-ice operators (myself, Polona Itkin) are very, very experienced at this kind of thing. There isn't room for learning the ropes here. We also develop over time the habit of keeping one eye up - yes, we have to pay attention to getting observations right! We also have to maintain situation awareness. At all times, on every drift ice station. It never gets old, leaving a perfectly fine ship to explore and work on such a dynamic landscape...

should note I had a bachelors double major in psychology and neuroscience before becoming a parent. Mainstream (in Australia) parenting is stunningly adversarial to what we know about development. Absolute testament to human resilience that we do OK despite it all.
