@futurebird The NYPD Commissioner resigned after an FBI search. And one of the guys working for him shot 4 people on a subway platform. And then the new commissioner got searched. And let's not forget the head of the Fire Department, the schools, campaign fundraising... I've lost track. There's like a dozen more, right?

@futurebird polls are no longer accurate. So many people refuse to participate that it really skews the results. The pollsters are trying to adapt, find new methods, and mathematically compensate, but they're working with flawed data.All we really know is that the race is within the margin of error. Everything else is meaningless. We'll start to know something next week. Wednesday at the earliest.

@futurebird @vivtek He claims they lied due to deceptive editing and that they broadcast otherfalsehoods, and therefore they should have their broadcast license revoked.As usual, every accusation is an admission. Multiple interviews with Trump have been deceptively edited in his favor, and his favorite news outlets lie all the time. He doesn't like being caught like that, so he's trying to make it a "both sides" thing.

@futurebird There are very smart questions. There are good questions to ask. But there are no stupid questions. If you sincerely don't know and sincerely want to know, then it's not stupid to ask. (That's all the phrase is supposed to mean, AFAICT.)If those two conditions aren't met, then you aren't asking the question in good faith.

@futurebird Getting spoiled doesn't necessarily "ruin" it for me, but it does detract from the experience. I do my best to avoid that. I just want to know enough to make an educated guess as to whether or not the thing is worth watching, and then I want to experience it fresh without knowing anything that's supposed to be a surprise.

@futurebird Trump proposed it because it was 2021 and he hated China.Then they came up with the reasoning. Legally, the Chinese government can get them to do anything and deny that they're doing so.Supposedly there's classified intelligence to suggest the threat is real.But it's stupid. If they had the sense and courage they'd write privacy, safety, and transparency rules that apply to all social media. Apparently it's okay if FB mines your data and sells it to China on the open market?
