@neil Not directly related, but we were discussing potentially using some FOSS software the other day that has some paid for options - support being one of the benefits, not that we felt we need support. But universally we felt we should buy it because we want to support the people who primarily write it and help make it sustainable. I was quite happy that there was not just a lack of resistance to paying, but an immediate 'we should just' attitude.

So just after it no longer matters, Ofcom has finally decided that you shouldn't be allowed to call broadband 'fibre broadband' when er, isn't fibre all the way.That would have been useful a few years ago. Who cares now, we're *actually* rolling out real fibre to more and more people anyhow.

@mos_8502 @revk guidance and best practice really I think of 100-150mm. I don’t actually recall any specific reg. The socket itself in min heights etc off the floor overall but I think clearance where it’s high enough up from the floor but a cabinet etc is beneath it… not so much. If there is someone can tell me which reg as it’s escaped me and I don’t see it in the pocket guide.

@josh this. A million times this. If we just made toilets to be individual private spaces as they should be, we don’t need to have any of these debates. And it means everyone, irrespective of gender, insecurity, etc etc can just use the bloody toilet in peace. We created the problem by making toilets in a stupid way to begin with.

@josh because it’s being used as another attack weapon against the trans community because a small but vocal group of scumbags love any opportunity to do so, and thus they’ve been using that angle to whip up a fuss. And yes, you only have to look at any major venue to notice that often the “ladies” has massive queues when the “gents” don’t creating stupid delay because of poor choices and sometimes indeed vice versa. Day to day practicality isn’t on the agenda.
