@BrodieOnLinux Been thinking for some time about moving to a tiling WM but since #wayland is on the horizon it probably be an idea to make it a 2in1 switch...which isn't Sway.Haven't found much info on wayland tilers so far or how stable they are.So far i've liked the idea of River best so far from comparing different ones,seems like it is sharing configuration paradigm with BSPWM and Herbsluft.

@BrodieOnLinux Iirc youtube had livestreaming capabilities quite early on but it was terrible or very resitricted to some users.Think they'r still the only one that allows anyone to go back to an earlier point in a livestream and watch.Found Twitch (then justin.tv) back when Totalbiscuit did Starcraft 2 commentary, some things has gotten better but also many bads.but Twitch did a really good job on the monetisation via subscriptions and gifting of it and donations are done well, afaik.

@BrodieOnLinux True, but somehow i would not be surprised if Youtube messed up somewhere.LTT stopped using superchats because the backlog would suddenly dissapear or full messages not show up,in addition to it randomly break/log him out.In the long term if anyone copied Twitch's features and made the UX streamlined and easy to use it for novices and power users it could be a big hit.Think Twitch has lost their way somehwat in regards to GUI/UX it isnt consistant or works as predicted.

@Linux_in_a_Bit @Hyolobrika Think you could make a decentralized DNS via DHT tho.Yes blockchain could possibly be used for good without draining the sun for all its power.But that i'd wager most people don't know about blockchain outside the scope of cryptocurrencies and i've seen some people seemingly thinking blockchain == decentralized and there being no other way of doing it.Crypto and Blockchain is hyped up right now like dodos as the perfect catfood ... or something.

@ChrisWere Reminds me of the old articles about "Mastodon is dead" froma few years ago,that were basicly hit pieces because the feeds weren't causing as much of a buzz or clickbait.

@strypey Possibly with the MLS standard (Message Layer Security) could be used for such things.Heard #matrix might be moving in that direction in the future from MEG/OLM.So might be usefull as a defacto message encryption for all/more message based platform.@aurynn @mattcen

@BrodieOnLinux Think i'd need to start a blog to describe what is good and bad about #twitch and its UX/UI.It's great you can watch streams via external players and discovering via clients that use api,also the chat can be used similarly which isn't that intrusive.But the website has just turned to shit imho it hasn't improved since roughly 2015 quite the opposite.Could probably go on for pages.#youtube does mid/long length videos best.while twitch is at streams and community.

@BrodieOnLinux But the question is what alternatives are there to #twitch and #youtube for #streaming ?Could something like #peertube or #owncast attract and bear streamers with already existing or large communities?(don't forget about video uploaders)They'r quite different from the popular ones right now and more established in how it is expected to work.
