@drq In my case, it is more "I have a problem with accepting something that is good enough, instead of holding out for something of quality."That doesn't have to be a capitalist take, but... seeing as how many people I know don't know any other system... it is, essentially. I don't know if people would be accepting of "good enough" in systems that didn't cause so much anxiety, stress, hatred, and, well, all the reasons.But I'm going to say it's along the lines of accepting convenience over quality, or convenience over ethical, or... convenience, the actual murder scheme.

@bitbear I don't know, but I have a feeling it is per-instance.And that it may have a LOT to do with the influx of new users that we've constantly had for 2 months. The more folks come into an instance, the more non-text content, and that may overflow the storage allocated.I do not know.I do know pixelfed, peertube, and funkwhale are based on activitypub, and are better for _media_ storage.

@bitbear and yes we need a scene pixelfed, a scene funkwhale, and... well the peertube thing would be a real huge thing and I'm not sure how to do that without a number of distributed nodes each sharing some. Really, videos are a huge issue here... what with their not showing the demo accurately due to lossy stuff, and being the exact OPPOSITE of compression. When a 4k or 8k intro uses 2gb of space to store the video, we're not really... ya know. Doing it right (:

freaking acronymsI'm doing Finnish study today and "KPT degradation" keeps coming up and I just can't figure out what KPT stands for.This will blow English speakers minds.It stands for:K, P, and T.That's right. It actually means what it says, UNLIKE ACRONYMS.Yes I'm gonna be about how acronyms need to be destroyed along with Daylight Savings Travesty. I have been about this, and I will continue to be, because we don't need them - at all - except, of course, for alt.fan.warlord style acronyms.

@lanodan @volpeon ... Ibased on the photo, I'm ... not sure that isn't me, 10 or 15 years ago.That looks _very much_ like a Helsinki tram. The seats and buttons match.The only issue is I'm not sure when my hair started being less solid brown and more grey, then white.

@raccoonformality Make a demo (which removes 'changing views' and needing to worry about controlling input from a user) on tic80/pico8, and then use the concepts you did there and do the same thing on some 8 bit platform - NES would actually be good because while c64 uses the same chip, there's a lot of ... "oh I need to have a stable raster" stuff which is not REALLY neccesary but "perfectionists" like me get bogged down in (:but: prototype, then when you know how to do the effect in one thing, deal with the limitations and changes. It's a good way of breaking it down to smaller blocks to work on.
