@Gargron I agree in spirit, but man... Its only 50% rentseeking... My elderly parents and computer illiterate siblings and coworkers would get in trouble fast if they weren't constrained by 3 software platforms: mint software manager, android play, and MS whatchamacallit. I have pounded it into their heads: never download software candy from strangers. (I live in an anti-apple pocket of the world)But then, i guess all three of those do let you do your own thing to varying degrees.

Data in, and data out.Crushing us like bugs would be a simple act of cold logic based on whatever "training" its given, and it is proven to emulate our emotions for tactical advantage. But i'm a person who grew up in middle class 70s SF and later faced the affordability crisis of the 90s, long commutes and overpaid tech bro assholes of every flavor pricing me and everyone i knew out of our homes and flats. I earned great money but it wasn't enough.The photos make me sad and angry. We were overrun by a thousand "Evil Corps" and their handsomely paid minions, plus a bunch of old money losers. Sorry to be Debbie Downer but it feels stolen.

@jkAs a decades long Firefox user who's seen all their screwups, my take is that the mozilla team today are feckless cowards who are too dumb and cowardly to see the gaping market gap that needs filling: a humanist browser that doesn't ride the bullshit stochastic parrot hype train.They have also in their history soared to great heights and fallen to great lows and are terrified of revenue loss.They must return to their roots to survive IMHO.
