@aral I've just mentioned that there's not much news about autumn rollout in the UK.I think even the NHS appointments for high risk people have stopped until autumn, perhaps pending updated vaccines for newer variants. I'm assuming GPs can still refer. I can get a private one, approx £90, I'm unlikely to be in the free NHS group, so I may do this later in the year when I get a flu vaccination. A lot of pharmacies advertise but don't have the vaccine in stock.

@shironeko @fulelo Leasehold ownership is where you 'buy' a new apartment for fixed term, often 99 years, and a monthly service charge covers maintenance, repairs, and running costs of shared areas and external structure. This is a cheap area for Greater Manchester, and the block isn't upmarket, so apartments in that building are selling for around £120,000.

@shironeko @fulelo It used to work ok, as the land and building owners, and management were after a sensible return, but for many, it's been taken over by people who want to extract as much as possible. Some newer build housing estates have similar problems with service costs and ground (land) rent, people own the house but not the land, or some roads, shared land etc.Even older houses will often have ground rent, although mine is 999 years and a tiny amount per year!
