#ThickTrunkTuesday A Utah Juniper in the high desert, framed by a rock arch in #ArchesNationalPark. This is looking out through Navajo Arch. The twisted, ancient trunks of the very slow-growing junipers were absolutely beautiful.

@grammargirl I tend to think of well-done punctuation as a superpower for practitioners of written language. It allows one to provide very finely nuanced meaning. I suppose the problem, though, is that so few practice it well, a reader can only tell if the writer MEANT it that way based on how well they punctuate elsewhere, either in context or by reputation. Probably went too deep on this. Sorry.

@anderspuck @ScottAkenhead I’ve never used cryptocurrency for just this reason. Crypto mining should be outlawed. It’s the equivalent of using all the potable water in the Sahara to water golf courses.

@futurebird I think there can be well-adjusted, normal rich people, just like there can be well-adjusted, normal beautiful people. It just takes a soul with a very grounded understanding of their worth and how unrelated that value is to the thing that makes them wealthy. And the understanding that those around them can be warped by their wealth and to view them with an open-eyed comprehension of human nature. It’s not impossible, but obviously it can be very hard to maintain.

@futurebird I agree with Prototaxites. 8m tall 1m wide giant fungal/algal(?) trees about which we know so little would be awesome to bring back. I would laugh my ass off if it turned out they looked like Truffula Trees.
