@stux this is a tough call for sure. There needs to be some consideration that Meta hosting, and managing, a platform is also not the same as the people who might use it.Saying because Meta manages or hosts it it should be right out seems to discount the people who might be inclined to use it.Isn't the point of federation to include everyone up until such time as they're proven to be bad actors? In which case the de-federate button is available. Otherwise why federate in the first place?

@killyourfm @gamingonlinux are the mobile apps actually any better? I nope out of such publications instead of doing so much more work to try to get at whatever content they clearly don't value either.

@stux I don't think this is Australia but a friend lives in the suburbs of Brisbane and the only way to tell which street was theirs was by the way certain trees in the roundabout leaned. Yikes, no thank you.

@ConsoleWitch I could totally be wrong. I'm not a processor designer. But here's how I understand it. Widening the register's biggest effect is being able to address more ram. 64bits let us address so much ram we're not even approaching how much we can physically fit in a system.Other parts of our systems have actually moved to 128bit as needed already. It's the internet, so if I'm wrong, I'm sure someone will correct me.

@ConsoleWitch Per PC Mag 64bits can address 18 quntillion bytes of ram. https://www.pcmag.com/encyclopedia/term/128-bit-computingPer Bing GPT math that's 16.384 exabytes of ram.

@ChrisWere pretty torn here. On the one hand he's won fair and square (as far as we know so far) and we need to abide by the system. On the other you're right we probably shouldn't be okay with it. How do you decide which is more sacred? Fascist bonking or abiding by the system that promises just government? Feels like I should add a #philosophy or something.

@ChrisWere well lets be real clear. That's what just more than half of Americans want. The other slightly less than half of us see the writing on the wall but I don't think we know what exactly we can do about it. Certainly not within the confines of the system that he will quickly dismantle.I wager it's time for violent action but I don't personally know how you do that. If an individual rolls up to the white house with a weapon, well, we know how that goes.

@ChrisWere if you have new ideas I'm all ears. I really hope it doesn't come down to violent action but...has there ever been a non-violent action that shut down a fascist movement?

@ChrisWere interesting idea. That would be incredible to see what happens if something like that were done. Definitely things to think about and consider.

@stux @protonprivacy this is the bridge too far? @stux I don't think skins in themselves are a problem. It's just the sale of them that's...questionable. In fact I find they give a little agency to the player to sort of own their character or playthrough or whatever. Deadcells uses this to great effect. Of course if your game doesn't call for or lend itself to skins that's up to you of course.
