@BrodieOnLinux I'm reminded of the times when KDE's fancy shutdown screen would fail if the nvidia drivers got updated so you would have to sudo reboot. It wasn't KDE's fault, they were just using QT's APIs, and it wasn't QT's fault because it was nvidia's drivers that were failing to function, and, though it was nvidia's fault, they didn't care. KDE *could* have provided a fallback option that would allow you to reboot if their fancy screen didn't work but fuck you for requesting that feature.

I know I've said this before, but the common autistic trait of an overdeveloped sense of justice is looking at it from the wrong direction. It's not that autistics are overly sensitive to injustice, it's that allistics are overly callous to it. @eyeling I wonder if that dark violet center isn't actually any darker than the other colours, it's just ultraviolet. I know that some birds can see more UV than humans can (our vision drops off very quickly after violet, which is already outside the capabilities of most cameras). Crows, for example, are highly colourful with UV vision.

Oh, look, it's been almost a year of running my own instance and l finally have something important to pin:Any anti-gay, anti-trans, racist, sexist, or otherwise bigoted bullshit will receive an immediate block. @mekkaokereke I think we really need to not refer to Democratic voters as "Democrats" since that reinforces the incorrect notion that your identity is tied to who you vote for. When I talk about Democrats and Republicans I am never, ever referring to the people who voted for them. I am referring to the parties themselves and the politicians that are part of them. While I have always voted for Democrats in federal elections, I know that they do not accurately represent me, I am not a Democrat.

@foone I'm pretty sure there are a number of reasons, but one of the main ones is that FDM printers can't do perfect right angles, they're always curved. This bypasses that problem without needing to add so much slop that the rest of it rattles around.
