@lowqualityfacts I took a technical writing course in university. For some reason the prof decided that having us read Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man would be helpful.The after the second class, there was bedlam as a assembled engineers and science majors lost their collective shit over the book. This continued through the rest of the term. The prof was eventually replaced. I've had a grudge against Joyce ever since.

@fixatedpersonsunitThere was a sign for a real estate agent that I would pass on my walk to work. At one point someone started sticking ~30mm googly eyes on the agent's face. It was juvenile, and ridiculous, and I loved it. For almost a year, googly eyes would show up for a few days, then the signage people would clean them off, only to be replaced a few days later.The agent finally relented and went to a text only sign, which was sort of too bad.

@RickiTarr A buddy in high school had a cat called "Rectum". At first I thought it was just him, but his whole family called it that. I had an all black German Shepherd. He was a big goof, and my shadow. He'd steal tools for attention while I was working. Started calling him a "German Shithead", then just "Shithead". He seemed fine with it. My last dog was a Lhasha Apso I got for my daughter. Called him "Tucker with a T", but sometimes not. "*ucker, get in here!"

@thomasfuchs @clive Dad hauled a 30' 5th wheel all around North America in a '95 Chevy Cheyenne 2500. Regular cab, long bed, 5.7L with manual transmission and 2wd. It only had 200hp, but he had no issues running at highway speeds.That would have been really close in size to that '65 F150, closer than anything on the road these days.

@clive @birwin A fellow I knew was into off-roading. Bought a relatively new Jeep TJ and added a lift for larger wheels tires. And broke U-joints. Then upgraded the driveshafts and u-joints. And stripped the axle splines. Upgraded to heavy duty axles. And broke the transfer case, and so on and so on.It's the best way to find the next weakest link. 🙂
