@ArtistBristol I lost patience with Julie some time ago on this particular issue. I still have respect for her long standing feminist work but most ordinary women I speak to have moved far passed where Julie's stance is. I'm not interested in coddling or working with the various pet trans many blue ticks seem to have. Special exceptions is what started this mess. I'm also sick of the blathering about the right wing when it's perfectly obvious to me that the left have no care for women and girls either. Feminism sits above partisan politics, or at least it should.

@Rogue_Koala @Ismat You can see it already. The peak 'passing' stage was approx 13-16 with Jazz and also with a number of other young boys who went the puberty blockers/cross sex hormones route. Nature has a way of winning out in the end. It's going to be a lifetime battling it with plastic surgeries which in my opinion is no way to live. I hope Jazz just says fuck it at some point and tries to live their best life without that crap.

@MountainSlideMama @Monchalant I almost gave it up in a fit of pique for the same reason. At one point about 90% of posts I'd started were deleted for being in the wrong circle. Even when I'd spent ages agonising where to put them. I've got a bit better at working it out but even now I'm reluctant to post anything that's a bit ambiguous. It's not massively encouraging for newbies.

Having learned about being trans on the Internet she identifies as a boy and says she wishes to medically transition. From the very first interactions with the clinic, our daughterās belief that she is a boy has been affirmed. She has a diagnosis of autism and was (before coming out as trans) exploring her sexuality and romantic attraction to girls. It seems possible that these things may be contributing to her current feelings about gender but I donāt believe that the clinic is exploring them in any depth. Rather, it feels they are leading us on a pathway to medical transition. Our worry is that by simply continuing to affirm her chosen identity rather than adopting a more watchful, waiting and curiously questioning approach, the medical pathway becomes the most likely outcome for herPotential Legal Challenge I would like to bring a judicial review to challenge the political guidelines that are shaping clinical practice for children and young people with gender dysphoria. I understand that if a public body like the NHS makes a policy and takes irrelevant considerations into account or fails to take into account relevant considerations then the policy is unlawful. I believe that the guidance from WPATH which the NHS has accepted has failed to take account of the success of psychotherapy and has also warned clinicians about supposed ineffective and unethical treatment on the basis of irrelevant research. The effect of this is to limit the clinical options open to young people. Effective informed consent requires that a patient is offered a range of clinical options. This guidance excludes treatment that will not only help young people be at ease in their natal sex but which also increases the risk that they will be exposed to experimental treatment which has irreversible lifelong consequences. Funding - I need your helpThe costs of bringing a case against a public body can be very significant, both in terms of our lawyers costs and the costs of the NHS. We are taking a staged approach and I initially need Ā£7500. If the NHS do not agree to address the concerns, then I will need to significantly stretch this. My solicitors have written to the NHS and I will update this page on their reply and let you know if more funds are needed. @liddylids This gives me the rage. Even putting aside the wrongness of it children that age don't talk like that. I can't believe he's been allowed to worm his way into activism with children. Not only does he have a publisher, outlets like Waterstones stock his crap, all aimed at indoctrinating children into god knows what.

@Eah @HebrideanHecate @liddylids I've been trying to think of ways to word an email to booksellers all day about this. The story is a bit all over the place though and I don't think linking to KF would help. Hopefully some news outlet picks it up although I doubt it - trans shield and all that. It took a long time for Yaniv to be picked up on and even after all he's done it's mostly just right wing or niche sites.

@Justwanttobreathe I also have this issue. Especially in relation to children, the invented concept of 'trans kids' in particular those who are pre pubescent really sets my teeth on edge.

@alexbloodfire This so disturbing. It's happening everywhere. I feel like I'm living in a dystopian novel. Sometimes I wish I didn't already have children. Take the Mumsnet FWR board for example, in theory it leans radfem (and of course itās considered TERF central) but literally anyone can post there and they do. So in any kind of long thread about abuse inevitably youāll get a few people victim blaming none of whom are likely be RF. You canāt extrapolate that to āloads of radfems are like thisā although I can see why someone on the receiving end might do so.A while back when that David Starkey racism incident blew up I saw people on Twitter calling the uber conservative pundit and youtuber Darren Grimes a TERF. I mean come on!!!I have no idea if her experiences are genuine or not but iāve never met anyone so far in real life groups like this.
