I do have a habit of being verbose. This can be a fault in many situations. I like to read books. It requires me a little bit of imagination to understand how not everyone else likes to read books.

There are those that can understand the rejection of misguided morality based on a deeper underlying sense of principle and those for whom the lack of even misguided morality leaves them with no guiding light whatsoever.Take as example the man from a moralistic and authoritarian background that, very much to the puzzlement of others that have been taught the principle of moderation, adopts an immoderate and profligate lifestyle the moment he finds out that he is allowed to do so if he wishes.

The worst mistake we ever make, as a society, is getting the strange idea that civilization is a perpetual upward march to ever higher levels of progress and improvement.Ancient Roman Europe had legendary paved roads that are still being used today, indoor plumbing, and central heating. They even had an early computer we now call the Antikythera Mechanism, and Hero of Alexandria was experimenting with steam power. We threw it away.Never underestimate our capacity for disgracing ourselves.

No matter who you are, you could make yourself feel comfortable with hating innocent people. You would construct your lies based on false equivalences and double-meanings. You would ignore your own lies until you forgot they were lies, at first for acceptance and then as an alternative to consulting with your own conscience. You would be trapped in a charade.Hateful people are trapped in this type of charade. They stay trapped because nobody offers a path to redemption.

@moffintosh Some of those innovations actually did catch on, to a degree, but they...kind of moved. What happened initially was that the Byzantine Emperor Zeno ordered the closure of the school in Edessa because he hated the Nestorian Christians for being a bunch of nerds, and its resources were moved back Nisibis, whose hindquarters had recently been split by the Persians. Emperor Khosrau decided to take on the Nestorians as refugees, which led to the Academy at Gondishapur.

Two things that are very difficult to untangle from each other are the subjects of politics and ideology. My politics are actually strongly in support of the Nordic model, to be honest. I think it works beautifully.Ideologically, though, I consider myself to be, oddly enough, an anarchist. It just means I object, in principle, to authoritarian means being a go-to. I think that reason, education, art, and other non-authoritarian means should be tried first.

Here is an example of how anarchist ideas can be employed without changing what type of government we have.Let's say there were a neighborhood that suffered from a serious crime problem, lots of break-ins, and people feeling unsafe walking the streets.Do you send in the cops here and thereby encourage a dependent relationship, or do you attempt to rally and organize the senior members of that community in a community advisory council, giving them a collective voice?

In that example shown above, I would err on the side of giving the locals in a community a means of collective representation and empowerment, rather than having City Hall exercise a "father knows best" approach without consulting with what the locals think of what is being done.By encouraging collectively independent communities, the government might lose centralized power to control how those people live and think, but as an anarchist, I think this is a good thing.

Well, well, well. Ukraine is finally gaining more ground. I really hope they get to the coast before year's end.

If someone wants to prove to me that they have no integrity, they can try telling me they are perfectly objective and not affected by either emotion or personal attachment. If you have a pulse, you have emotions, and you get personally attached to people. If someone wants to try to give me the impression that I actually can trust their integrity, they will claim whomever is important to them. Friends, family, peers, pets, partners, and so on.Claim what is yours.

Eat the rich.Reminder: ill-gotten gain is real. People in most industries get promoted in management not for their williingness to work but for their willingness to ruthlessly bully and gaslight regular employees into believing they are so worthless that they deserve to get paid less than a donkey on a treadmill for half-killing themselves every day. Liquidating pension funds that were not protected by genuine contractual obligations actually gets you ahead. Therefore, eat the rich, QED.

One day, someone will pull up to a light with angry and aggressive music playing loudly, and then someone with bigger speakers next to them will turn on some compassionate and hopeful and encouraging and wholesome music in a better version of the same genre, playing it loudly enough to drown the negativity out. Everything will stop, and the whole community will surge out into the streets to cheer for that person, raising them up on their shoulders as a hero with confetti flying. Dare to dream!

All American conservatives are scum. They continue to support a political party that insists that my vote should be worth less than that of another person only by virtue of the fact that more people live in my area than in another area. Until this fact has changed, all American conservatives are scum, QED.

Trust me, if Putin gets his way in Ukraine, he is goong after Lithuania, Finland, or Poland, next. Russia's history of land greed goes back centuries. Nothing will suffice to slow them down besides a sharp and brutal rebuke.

The Grand Quisling Party continues to deem dirty political games to be more important than the lives of Ukrainian families. It is important to understand that if America's resolve to supoort Ukraine falters, then the more aggressive faction in the Chinese government would eventually be heard. They would say the USA is too divided, too weak, and too easily tired to really make a strong ally for Taiwan, and they would insist upon a course as disastrous for their own nation as for world peace.

When I say that Karl Marx was one of the most important political economists in history is like saying Einstein was one of the most important scientists in history.Einstein made very important contributions, but he was dead wrong about quantum entanglement. This does not mean Einstein was a a bad scientist. It only means you stray from the very purpose of science if you cling to a fixed solution. The purpose of Marx's theory was only economic justice. That's all.

Dear normies,No, don't take offense. I realize that nobody is truly, completely normal, and I suppose that the word "normie" has occasionally been used as a slur by which to invalidate people's individuality. In this use, I mean people that are NOT culturally excluded, silenced, and erased in our society. It's like the term "white privilege." It can be used spitefully, but that is wrong.Anyway, if you take time to listen to groups that do not have as much of a voice, thank you.--Sigma
