Mutual Aid RequestHello everyone. This month of June has already been off to a really rocky start. Paychecks that were supposed to come, didn't, illnesses, and delayed assistance has put us in a financial bind. FORTUNATELY we can pay rent, and the van payment, car insurance and utilities, but we may not have enough for medical supplies and essentials for this month. My PayPal is not working for some reason and I can't accept monetary donations. My family does have an Amazon wish list though! These are the items we really need for this month. Anything helps. Tia for any help/circulation any one can do for us :sunflower::purple_heart:Link: https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/3AEHSE288266O?ref_=wl_share#MutualAid #Disability #COVID #trans #Community #ChronicallyIll #LGBT #Pride #autism #HidradenitisSuppurativa #Crohns #EDS #Pots #Disabled

I need some strength. It's been an awful couple of months. Since I caught the virus one of the kids brought home from school in mid May I've had: 1) pneumonia2) an internal groin abscess that caused the infection to spread down my leg3) hospitalized for surgery and IV antibiotics 4) shingles I caught at the hospital and brought home to my children who now have chicken pox (and they are vaccine against it, too!)and now 5) a thrush infection on my tongue and down my esophagusI am mostly bed bound now. Hospice has been coming 2-3x/week since my hospital discharge on the 11th. I been having to take care of the surgical wound that is larger than I expected it to be. On top of this, the landlord is being a hideous human being, and we are dealing with harrassment over our complaints of a moldy toilet and shower that's been like this since we moved in. My immune system isn't working well and I'm scared for when school starts in the fall. CoVID could kill me. I will have to homeschool the younger 2 children and the oldest teen will still have to attend in-person school because of the special support services they need and their IEP. At least they are good about masking. The school isn't though. There's lots of students who go to school actively ill. And nobody except for my children mask. I know people are sick of hearing about COVID and everyone is done with COVID, but, COVID isn't done with us. I don't have a community or support network, and I'm all my children have. COVID or some other virus or infection could take me out. I need to stay healthy for my family. I'm in a dark dark place in life right now. My partner already lost a very good job (2 days ago was fired) because of having to care for me. So we are jobless now, without outside help. I'm scared and in pain, and I'm worried for my survival. I need strength to keep going. I don't want to die at 40. I don't want to join my big sister and mother. Not yet. I need many many more years on this earth. 💔ðŸ˜

Nobody talks about how healthcare for trans people is a basic human right and goes beyond access to hormones and gender affirming surgeries. Trans people are refused cardiac care, dental care, disability supports, emergency care, etc simply because they are trans and trans- hating physicians deny them the healthcare they need to survive.

Does ANYONE know when Michigan is going to get the newly approved COVID booster vaccines? An organization that does in home vaccines for disabled people and seniors told us today that Michigan hasn't gotten them in yet. Why isn't Michigan getting the new vaccines? #covid #covid19 #michigan #USA #Pandemic #Disability

@Wolven One of these people is the landlord of the complex we rent from. He's a missionary that regulalry goes to Guatemala meddling with impoverished families there. He owns multiple properties that are managed by his management company. He also pays off section 8 inspectors, local mold inspectors, and he has paid off city hall. He has increased harrassment of my family and made it clear he is watching my [trans and disabled] children. He forced his way into our unit twice, under false pretext. I have filed a civil rights complaint against him, and the first time we were coerced into settling by a dept of civil rights investigator who mysteriously chose the landlord's side toward the end, once she discovered that we are trans and have mental illness. We are now on civil rights complaint number 2. I just got off a 2 hr call with a free legal aid lawyer with a mid Michigan renter's rights office. This landlord is protected in multiple ways, and acts with impunity, because he is supported by a system that shares in his goals. I read rumor about a "2024 project" in which GOP will fire all current federal offices/social services employees, and install their own, selected far-right replacements into all the "vacant" positions. I'm too disabled to fight this on my own. What is crushing me will crush everyone else, rest assured. Daily I plead with the void to just look at all the evidence I have documented, but, even in the presence of the videos and audio and emails, nobody cares.

Hello friends and mutuals on Mastodon. I am in need of help (don't worry, it's something that's beyond money, so if you have no money you can still help me) I need lots of advice on a situation involving another child who is BFFs with my youngest child who is ten years old. The friend is 11/12 (sixth grade). So, where we live, is this complex that houses mostly disabled people and people with addictions. Needless to say, almost everyone who rents here has some sort of PTSD and other neurodivergence. I need advice on how to create a COVID-safe, trauma-safe, space for a child who is not my own, but, has chosen our home to flock to for comfort. (Her father is incarcerated and she's raised by her mother who is disabled)She wants to be over here all the time, but, I have to keep ourselves safe from COVID (I have a weak immune system). She does wear the mask we give her without any complaints whatsoever, so, I know she will be accepting of any protocol we have in place. I'm thinking we can do 2 hour visits at our place, once a week. And that should be exposure down, especially if we are all masked (the kids wear fitted kn95s and I wear an n95) She is coming over this evening and I want to provide the children with snacks. Does anyone have advice on how to safely distribute snacks? Do I have the children eat in separate areas? I have one air purifier and a Corsi Rosenthal box fan filter I built. If anyone has advice on any detail I mentioned, please feel free to comment. I appreciate the help.
