It will be interesting to see whether/how they respond to it.Apparently it's common for this brand to purge their social media accounts as a social/political statement (they make a splash in the news every time they do it). Of course, it's also a very convenient way to wipe evidence of wrongdoing and avoid criticism.Watch them pull a Cuties and claim that the whole thing was a social commentary against sexualization of children.I think @Null said it best: when someone signals to you that they are a pedophile- ironically or otherwise- you should believe them.

@chudbereVery nice! You hit all of the Thanksgiving checkmarks and then some.Since our kids were recovering from plagues, we got to have a nice casual family Thanksgiving, COVID-style. With no relatives to impress, we like to throw out the rulebook. Turkey and stuffing was last weekend; for Thanksgiving my wife made coconut curry ramen for dinner instead. After that we video chat with our Boomer relatives.We also reverse-engineered the recipe from a bougie cookie shop nearby. Nothing is more tasty than a batch of cookies that Karen normally pays $5/each for.

@mothI recall reading that the Chinese version of TikTok shows more educational and positive programming, while the American version shows whatever garbage boosts their ad revenue. And as you mentioned, the app is probably harvesting data on every user which is de-facto property of the CCP.@7

Feed them tasty food, and otherwise ignore them (aka let them get used to your routine). Ignoring them is the hard part- all the stuff people think is reassuring to a pet (hugs, cuddles, direct eye contact, attention, etc) is stressful and threatening to an animal that isn't warmed up to you yet.Different animals also have different temperaments. One of our cats will let me carry him belly-up like a football; the other gets antsy if I hold her for more than 10 seconds.

Losing loved ones is tough. Losing them suddenly is extra-tough, especially if you had just talked to them recently.Everyone grieves differently, but three things that helped me were:1) Keep hanging out with friends and doing normal stuff, even if it feels hollow (fake it till you make it)2) Don't shy away from feelings of grief- it finds a way to bubble up if suppressed, and there is no "correct" timeline or way for it to happen.3) Find a way to take them with you- whether it means living by their values, get into a hobby you both enjoyed, get a tattoo that reminds you of them, whatever.
