@gekitsu @rabia_elizabeth @actuallyautistic My unsolicited two cents:Gender roles, being artificial constructs, serve the purpose of restricting/limiting/controlling how we present ourselves to the world. Given that as a foundation, I have no respect for the idea of "gender presentation". I present me to the world. I may or may not fit neatly into a category they have in their head, but that has nothing to do with me - that's all them.

@reina I have an LG washer / LG dryer (two units) that I really like. I've never tried one of the all-in-one types, but I think they're more common in Europe. I'm in the US.

@KimPerales It's not just in the south and midwest, it was all over the country.In Eastern Washington state, the Tri-Cities is Kennewick, Richland, Pasco. Kennewick and Richland were sundown towns, all the "domestics" lived in Pasco, and had to be back there before the sun set, or face arrest.

@DFunk I was raised to be a racist, by racists. The big stuff was easy to get rid of, it was all the little stuff, right down to checking what I thought when someone cut me off and took my parking space at the store. Was it different because the driver was [Black/Latino/female/fill in the blank]? I'm not sure I'm ever going to be 100%, but I haven't given up.@StillIRise1963

@HeavenlyPossum The thing that's always frustrated me about anarchists (from what you've written, I'm assuming that's you) is that you imagine groups of people will just *do* things, collectively, for the betterment of all. And that will work. Humans have way too much of the "what's in it for me?" gene for that to work on any kind of scale. I mean, hell, sit through any HOA meeting ever held...

@vee I'm in a weird situation. I have three people I'd feel confident/comfortable calling for something really huge - like needing to be bailed out of jail - but no one I'd feel comfortable calling for lunch, or to go to a movie. The three people are busy / have families / have jobs. I just feel like I'm intruding if I call them.@actuallyautistic

@zackwhittaker I'm wondering what impact (if any) this has on a years-ago SCOTUS ruling? You can be compelled to unlock your phone without a warrant if it's only secured with a biometric lock (fingerprint/face) but not if it's a PIN or pattern - that requires a warrant.I've made a point of power-cycling my phone when going through Customs since then, because my phone requires both after a power cycle.

@mekkaokereke I see toxic masculinity as the narrow box that says men can't cry, show any emotion but anger, must respond to any challenge with violence, and can't accept help without their masculinity being diminished. It's a very brittle, fragile kind of masculinity.
