@stux here in the US we blame anything but guns for the gun problem. It's just how we do.We will literally blame it on sun spots and fluoride in the water before we'll blame guns.It would be hilarious if it weren't so goddamn deadly.

@Nonilex In the article I see this line "It is unusual for the federal government to ..."There is NOTHING usual about the current government, we're so far off the map here it's not even funny. Any sense of norms or decorum has long since vanished. I wish the news would stop acting that was not the case.

@Nonilex feels like bully behavior. They got caught out doing something wrong (murder) so they are doubling down trying intimidate and control. They are scared and over-reacting, because if they can't cow the masses, they know they are going to face consequences... a rarity, and something bullies really don't like.
