@AlgoCompSynth you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make them swim.

@futurebird I'm counting Lactose Free as ultrapasteurized for the purposes of this poll. Typical price is $3.69 per half gallon for store brand, so option three.

@futurebird the first 30 seconds is almost always me saying, okay who wants to be the spokesperson for the group, followed by silence, followed by me saying does everyone want ME to be the spokesperson for the group.

@foone search engines should just have a "Foone Mode" for this kind of thing, but make it available to all of us.

@futurebird complete mixed bag on this and music choices are going to be made on the fly as there is no go to.

@futurebird umbrellas are indeed powerful talismans, but that doesn't mean you should leave them behind, it's important to follow the ancient rituals even if the reason behind the results are unclear.

@futurebird a good example along these lines, of at least the first part, would be a lot of the tax incentives NY state started giving call it 20 years ago. To the best of my recollection this is literally why Chobani exists as a brand. Now of course the tricky part there is phasing them out over time, which I think they haven't been quite as good at.

@futurebird private studies absolutely, public ones not sure there are. But companies using these chatbots definitely evaluate their effectiveness, and "call centers" are all about agent enablement. In general I suspect the answer is if you put guardrails around them and have their goal be answer straight forward requests and reduce the time burden on live agents that companies are finding them useful.

@futurebird because they contain proprietary information such as business practices. There's so much information held privately where that's the case.

@futurebird @oldladyplays this is true, but also there's an art on stage of dancing poorly if you know how to dance well, and this felt more like that.

@futurebird "estimated to be 4.5 billions old", being one to watch out for. Because a lot of times that "estimated" is a signal to listen for other weasel words.

@futurebird very much agree, because mostly the "trick" to the whole thing is obvious real quick but there's still a whole lot more "explanation".
