@Yemaya @hanafiyyah I'm not sure. Some women in the industry do think like that. I'm not sure if it's to convince themselves it's more a choice they freely made. Nothing hurts more than being somewhat complicit in your own dehumanisation.

I hate my brother. He is everything I hate in men. He is 25 going to spend the weekend with a 19 year old. He only just broke it off with someone and went fully erratic. He won’t leave her alone. He is an alcoholic. I fear for these girls who go out with him. He is disgusting, obsessed and perverted. He has no shame and actively tries to get with my friends. I remember when I was in year 9. He was one week off from being 18 and a girl in my year level (she was only 14) rocked up to my house on a Saturday at 2:30pm. I answered the door and she couldn’t even look at me in the eyes. She was my good friend in year 7. Why was she at my house? Too see my brother of course. I had to leave the house so I went for a bike ride around the neighbourhood.The few times I’ve went out on a Saturday night I would have women I’ve never met before in the toilets come up to me and ask if I was my brother’s sister. Their faces when I said yes was a mixture of laughter or disgust. I hate him. No doubt he has forced girls to do sexual acts to him. He is porn sick and a john.

you would think for lockdown 5.0 Victoria would learn to give at least 24 hours notice. Joke of a state. One aged care centre today in my town went into lockdown without advising residents. Just a email overnight to their families.

@HebrideanHecate My friend in Khost the number one law student in his class is a woman. What will her hard work pay off for her? My other friend is in Jalalabad we were in a video call today with her 6 month niece clinging to her side laughing and smiling. We always joke and make plans for women’s cricket team. She only sent me a video the other day of her old shelled village in Laghman. I just had one friend get their refugee application rejected as it deemed safe for him to return to Kabul. The same place his father was a targeted kill. He wants to tell his mother but doesn’t want to ruin her Eid. I just feel like shit thinking about it all. I’m lucky I can turn it off as I’m not living it. What can we do? Nothing and that hurts the most.

@hanafiyyah it is telling most my friends and their families celebrated when they heard the US were leaving. Who cares what they think they are just dressmakers and shopkeepers. I’ve noticed it is now progressing to make all civilians look bad too. There is more hope in the landscape than the people.

@LostInCalifornia @sleepwalker yes, it is our equal responsibilities to drive tanks, carry guns and press the button to launch air strikes on other countries. Feminism 101. How is including more women in the military going to stop them from bombing and killing civilians? I can’t see the US stopping that because we oppose it. She declined opting to stay with a family she isn’t even blood related too. Technically they are her employees. She doesn’t want to leave her home and certainly not cut all ties to her homeland. It is cruel to expect women to forget their language, heritage and family. They have already suffered so much lost. It is easy for us to pass judging statements here by we will never Be able to fully comprehend how it is for people on the ground. We say here 20 years, 20 years for what? This is not 20 years for Afghans this is 40+ Years. Adults and children born in hostility and war never experiencing peace.
