What is happening on Twitter is due to the corrupting influence of capitalism. What is happening on Mastodon is due to the cooperative mindset of socialism. Neither approach is perfect, but I know which I prefer.

What is going to happen if Mastodon continues to grow exponentially? Will the servers cope with the strain? Will they have to start charging users? Generating ad revenue? Is this thing sustainable? The principle is great, but is there any plan for dealing with this huge influx?

This is a bit of a random question, but "mastodon" has got me wondering, what is your favourite prehistoric animal that came after the dinosaur era? (I'd like to discover new ones.)Mine is paraceratherium, a relative of the rhinoceros that stood twice as tall as an elephant and is the closest land mammals ever got to dinsosaur size. I'm really sad they're not around (they disappeared 11 million years ago).

Why is it okay for the rich to flee the country if we threaten to tax them, but it's not okay for the poor to down their tools if they're not paid enough to eat? Why is tax flight considered perfectly reasonable, but strike action a terrible sin?

If you think it's a terrible idea to let a billionaire control a company like Twitter so he can ban journalists who criticise him, consider it's also a terrible idea to let billionaires control our natural resources and essential services. No individual should hold so much power.
