I rescued a ~2015 era MacBook pro from the recycle pile at work a few months ago, installed a new SSD, and the latest Ubuntu.After jumping through some hoops, I got the webcam working, primarily for skyping when I'm away from my desk.Now, every time I get a kernel update, it breaks the camera and I have to redo all those steps.1. Is there any way to prevent updates from borking my camera?2. Is there a way to automate the process of fixing it when it breaks?

@checkervest There doesn't seem to be a general consensus on the difference between a Pond and a Lake, but the rationale I like the best is that ponds are all photic layer, meaning sunlight reaches all of its depths, whereas lakes have an aphotic layer where it's deep enough that sunlight doesn't penetrate to the bottom.But ultimately, whoever first looked at it and said, "that's a lake," is the only opinion that matters.#LakeFacts

So far the guys replacing the carpets in the lobby of the building I'm working in have done the following:1: tapped on things(?) with a small hammer, continuously, but also irregularly, for like 30 minutes.2: used some sort of power saw for like 10 minutes.3: used one of those power drills that clicks when it can't drive anymore so it goes, "BRRRRRRRRRRRRRR-CHK-CHK-CHK-CHK-CHK," every ~30 seconds for the last 15 minutes.4: Back to the saw.5: and more tapping.
