I’m so glad they did an interview with her. When I heard that a book about Tavistock existed, I went looking for it, and I’ve been meaning to purchase it and do a book review ever since. Y’know, at least she’s looking for an “ex bad boy”. She doesn’t want some “nice guy”. She wants someone fun and wild like her who’s looking to quiet down a bit. I get the joke, but after a while it gets old. Maybe it’s just that so many people who know nothing about me call me “ruined”. Even to this day. Even though I managed to get happily married in my early 20s and have a house full of children and live that cliche “good woman” life folks are always preaching about. But I’m “ruined” and “no decent guy would ever want me”. Getting that lecture from some online stranger while holding my fourth newborn (all with my husband after we were married) kind of spoils the “ruined woman” narrative for me a bit.

I remember where I grew up, it was pretty rural and pickings were slim. Add a rocky childhood on top of that, and I remember thinking that I’d be fucking thrilled if I found a guy who wasn’t an alcoholic. I remember going on dating apps looking for “any height, not obese, doesn’t smoke, doesn’t drink” and finding 1 match 500 miles away. So then, I looked for “any height, doesn’t drink”. 5 matches. 500 miles away. lol

I just don’t get it. We use natural trees because it’s actually more environmentally friendly than the plastic. It also incentivizes businesses to grow more pine trees, which I love. And when Christmas is over we clean them thoroughly and donate them to a wild animal preserve so that the animals have something to eat and play with. Like, having a Christmas tree can be incredibly eco-friendly, but these people are idiots, so good luck explaining that to them.

So this video I made 4 years ago has started attracting attention recently. I have no idea why. The internet is a weird place. Basically, I told the story about how, when I was a young woman, men who were of enough to be my grandpa would ask me to come and be their cute little wifey. Like, total strangers would ask me to come live on their rural, isolated farm in the middle of nowhere— and they were old enough to be my grandparents. And it wasn’t just living there for free. It was doing the cooking, the cleaning, the housework and it was never explicitly stated, but I’m assuming being their sex toy was included in this bargain.Now, anybody with a brain attached to them might think, “hey, I’m 21 and I think I’d rather find a partner closer to my own age that I feel physically attracted to and can build a strong sense of connection with so that maybe I can have a healthy and fulfilling relationship with them. Like, maybe I don’t want to live in a wheat field in the middle of nowhere with a total stranger who is old enough to be my grandparent but somehow expects me to have sex with them the way I would a younger more attractive partner.”It seems, from the comments, that most guys have a baseline understanding that maybe a 21 year old girl wouldn’t want to give up ALL of her future prospects to go live with a wrinkly old geezer she doesn’t know on a house in the middle of a wheat field in the middle of fucking nowhere.But then I get comments like this one. And apparently me wanting to hold out for a partner that I’m capable of building a healthy meaningful relationship with is “vaginal privilege”.I am so tired of bitter misogynistic men on the internet. Like, sometimes I just want to say to these people: “Guess what? There’s a reason women won’t fuck you. And it’s not because women are bad. It’s because you’re a horrible, self-centered, bitter, unpleasant person and no one wants to be around you!”And before you call me judgy for saying that, I’ve known some of these guys in real life. They think women are the root cause of every problem that’s ever existed while simultaneously being completely incapable of taking an honest look in a fucking mirror. It’s so much easier to blame women for the crime of being born and breathing air.And there are so goddamn many guys like this. And a lot of them are incels. And sometimes I think maybe the world will be a better place if people like that die off without ever passing on their seed. Because so often they weren’t discriminated against unfairly by women— they chose to be so completely unappealing that no woman would degrade herself by being with them.

Okay. I’m along with you for most of this. But then you mention autism, which changes the way the brain processes information, and with it the behaviors, outcomes, etc. Now, you said men have higher rates of autism. (That’s debatable, but not relevant at the moment.) The important thing is that women still sometimes have autism, which can masculinize the female brain and produce more masculine behaviors and thought patterns, which can then lead to more masculine results. I’m not saying we should change the rules for the sake of the exceptions, but as a person who has lived the “exceptional” life, I become very tired of the assumption that all women should somehow be scooped back into a “woman” category. Gender roles and expectations are important, yes. But if they become so rigid that individuals who fail to conform to them can’t comfortably navigate through society, this is also a problem.
