My only criticism of the Behind The Bastards series on G. Gordon Liddy is that Robert never actually attempts to mimic Liddy's extremely distinctive voice while reading Liddy's accounts of his badass superspy hijinx. Robert reads those passages with the gravelly voice of a hardened CIA-programmed killing machine, when Liddy's actual voice was like adolph hitler after inhaling a helium balloon. "I AM VIRILE, VIGOROUS AND POTENT!" hits a little different when it's a nazi chipmunk screaming it.

@PopeASDF I credit Liddy for turning me into the yeti I am, because his views were so abhorrent and he was such an awful, stupid, unlikable, lecherous cretin that doing the opposite of what he thought was morally and ethically correct seemed like it was a good way to live my life. And it is!

@PopeASDF Oh yes, I 'member. I seem to recall an incident where Don And Mike kept calling him "Captain Queeg" on air and I think he wound up either pulling a knife (or pencil, which seems to me to be more in character) on them. Then there was the time he terrorized the preschool next door to the studio by having a NHRA funny car rev its engine inside the parking deck causing all of the sound to be directed at the school. What a blistering, blundering idiot.

That old Warner Brothers "Norman Normal" cartoon was WAAAY TOO INTENSLY DEEP for just kids.
