@hyde The best button on that new functionnality, is the one that turns it off!I am so sad that Signal is taking the direction they are, now that Moxy is gone...Dropping SMS support on Android is another bad decision IMO... I will just stop using Signal because of that! I live in Canada and 99% people use SMS because it is free here... At least I could reach everyone in the same app before, and encourage people to get Signal too. Now I can't!

@fsf how can one trust a software if the source code cannot be audited?Closed software are often full of wholes, harder to find because the code is closed, but once found, easier to exploit, and longer to patch!

@fsf No no no... I am pretty sure I open the mail client, I type words, and then the Internet does the rest.. There might be clouds involved if we get a little technical 🤣 (People never get that the modern world rests on the shoulders of 5-6 devs in their basements, maintaining libraries, and one mad sorcerer managing timezones)

@valere is 26 stable now!?I have to upgrade my 2 instances! How do you feel about the rounded corners that came earlier this year?I was forced to bypass it with custom CSS because it broke many things!

@killyourfm @jonhicks First logo change that I really appreciate in years, from any company. The new minimalist approach is killing brand recognition, yet, your logo looks amazing and detailed, in a simple way!Congradulations!

@BrodieOnLinux I think they should have kept a team to come-out with a 24.04 release on Gnome until Cosmic is ready.... I am considering switching to Ubuntu or Fedora as I use my machine for work, and packages are becoming ancient on Pop! And I need to manually install updates more and more!

@BrodieOnLinux A thing to consider, is that Gitlab is a monster... We tried deploying a Gitlab stack at work and it was using an incredible amount of ressources just existing! It tanked a powerful machine! We switched to gitea with drone-ci and the thing could run on half a potato!I don't know how well Gitea scales, and that is not the point... my point is that Gitlab has become an unmanageable monster! Optimizing is the key forward IMHO, for any project!

@BrodieOnLinux My take on this is: "renting-only" games should be illegal... Bring back game ownership! (It is okay to not host the game files indefinetly for the customer though... Like a CD, it is my responsibility to keep a copy of the original). And, for multiplayer games, the publisher should be forced to provide a way to host servers ourselves, like back in the days when they could not affort it/do it themselves!I wonder what his take on this is...

@BrodieOnLinux To me, running Linux on a chromebook vs Asahi Linux on a Mac M is not the same!Linux on a chomebook is just a way to get something out of those devices... On a Mac M, it is an experiment on exciting new hardware! These devices are incredible, except for the stock OS.

@BrodieOnLinux I have been recommending Pop since 2018, but I stopped lately... The 22.04 version does not hold-up anymore, and Cosmic won't be mature for a while. I earn a living with my computer, I can't rely on an experimental DE for production, and I need an updated OS... I am trying Debian 12 at the moment... Not bad at all! I do miss the tweaks System76 had made over Gnome though!

@BrodieOnLinux Your planning for the forseeable future should always include one episode per week about what service did Trump cut that will destroy a critical service... I don't think you will run out of subjects
