@sunspot You should be careful, reading the mind of abusers might do you more harm than good, because their mind is really toxic

@MandyJane Is it me or do we really live in a time where abusers are constantly victimized as harmless people who "just needed mental ressources/little bit of therapy"? I swear, even in prisons, the most violent abusers are always defended, by associations and lawyers, with that same argument. That's why you see so many murderers get parole early, just because they got some "mental ressources" and "positive psychology". But, I still don't understand the concept of forcing victims/potential victims to live (in a society) with abusers. The priorities are just backwards. As for Noah, it's not the first time the left has criticized the concept of trafficking (altough, "sex work" is also obtuse, but they don't criticize that ofc). They use a rhetoric that focuses on labor ("work", "trading", "exchange", "clients/sellers", "it's not rape, it's labor exploitation"). It's a tactic that makes it hard to analyze power dynamics. In a rhetoric where everyone is nothing but a seller or client, and both are considered equal per default, it's difficult to see what's beyond that superficial dichotomy.I think arthur chu always uses the same dichotomy (iirc he implied something like "feminist should not take away jobs from teenage ~~sex workers~~, it's not the buyers who are the abusers, but those who take away their job"). So I think the worst part of this type of rhetoric is that it puts johns/pedos on a pedestal just because they invest some money... *puke* And In both cases, the dudes refuse to be specific, always talking about "work" and "labor" and "unpaid labor" and "clients", but refusing to admit that there is more to say than that. There is a reason the "sex workers" crew on twitter, always claim that rape is "not worse or better" than stealing an apple. And the goal is to banalize sexual violence. I think we are starting an era, where victim's rights are going to be erased, and feminists will have to start all over again. *sigh*

@MandyJane didn't this dude say that teenagers/children exploited by OF/porn where cool rebels against the authority of mean parents? Now he wants to act like he is against pedos? Lmaooooo.

@Chronic-Yonic Libfems have always degraded Mckinnon. They have always called her "old" or "grandma". I wonder what these same libfems will once they get old themselves.

@MandyJane that's something I noticed too, that these "pro sex work" people always talk about THEIR feelings, but don't give a fuck about anyone who has been directly or indirectly hurt by the porn industry. That's why I always raise an eyebrow when a "sex worker" screams "SO YOU DON'T CARE ABOUT MY EMPOWERED FEELINGS??? SHAME ON YOU". Because these people never gave me anything (besides enabling pornsick dudes lmao) , so I never understood why they expect me, or any other woman for that matter , to support them. The pro sex work crowd has a bully mentality/entitlement. They hurt others, yet expect victims to love them.

@kathleenbee @MandyJane @senryu that's true. That's why there are Marxists like Silvia Frederici who see prostitution as "work" (you know the type who says "all work is exploitative and abusive per default so prostitution is not worse than any other job") and nothing else. The concept of "work" itself has become meaningless nowadays. Any type of physical effort can be considered to be work, according to our modern "pro sex work" libertarian activists.Men just need to spend one dollar whenever they abuse women and voilĂ ! It's not abuse anymore, it's work! It helps the economy! /sarcasm /

@sunspot these countries seem to have a big subculture around trans identity. And of course it's for sexual purposes/fetish. It's interesting that the rise of trans ideology goes hand in hand with a pornified society. It actually makes since both share a stereotyped worldview. Men see no difference between a woman and a man wearing drag make up basically.

@MandyJane the fact that many people want to push porn into sex Ed doesnt help to draw the line between what's just education and what's not I guess I guess. It's like a fight between the toxic right wing and the pornified left wing. Both have a fucked up understanding of sexuality.

@juneseed @AthenasWrench3 @Berco @DejaVu @Eah @MandyJane "We're medicalizing the female distress instead of targeting what's CAUSING it"yep, medicalizing women's trauma is way to once again put the blame of them, stigmatize their feelings and push the idea that it's women who must be "fixed" (via surgery and/or other treatments), rather than the society that created the pain whithin them.Psychologists/therapists themselves are now very individualistic: they would rather talk about how "women just have the wrong perspective and need to change" (and thus encouraging their clients to feel bad if they don't blindly follow social norms), rather than criticizing our culture. Which is a shame, I feel bad for all the victims who think that they are "crazy" just because a bunch of "experts" would rather made them think that they are the ones who are the problem, and that questioning/blaming anything else is forbidden.

@Ladyfat it seems that there a new trend of "rescue" type of association, which are actually the ones who put the life of animals in danger just to sell them or gain views (and thus money) on YouTube.
