Libertarianism should be about rebuilding what we’ve lost, not tearing things done. This positive vision is often lacking among libertarians unfortunately.

@AnimeTradCath @demitasse I don't know any quotes off the top of my head but its definitely not a high one. Hitler was an authoritarian who only made use of the democratic total state. Hoppe would have definitely preferred a restoration of the monarchy.

@ImperialAgent @demitasse @AnimeTradCath Pretty big one. A dictator never has a strong guarantee of long-term power. Thus, they often will engage in highly authoritarian policies that don't work out well in the long run. Think Stalin's Great Terror. A monarch on the other hand, has a strong institution backing him. Thus, his time preference will be lower and his hand lighter.
