@soretski the accidental lab leak idea and the associated early over response helped foster the belief that it was worse than it was. Without that the extreme measures that followed would have been very hard for the population to support.

@soretski anonymity was never a feature of the bitcoin design, in fact quite the opposite. I am surprised how many people mistakenly believe this.

@soretski everyone has to make their own determination on what acceptable risk vs the rewards. You are correct though that I believe it is a persons fault if they don’t educate themselves properly when it comes to any financial transaction, especially when the information is readily available.

@soretski that’s why you never go to fiat if you can help it, and if you do follow the rules and pay all applicable taxes. It sucks, but that’s one of the signs that the space is maturing.

@soretski the leaders are public and therefore impossible to to stay out of the spotlight. The tyranny really came from what was done to the simple supporters who just funded something they believed in and had their bank accounts seized. Not surprised from a country that elected and seems to continue to support Justin Castro.

Has anyone else noticed a big shift in Adams attitude and demeanor on the show over the last year? JCD has always been the buzzkill curmudgeon and Adam was the inquisitive one willing to be open to many possibilities no matter how crackpot. Now he is almost the same as John. Much quicker to dismiss things as BS and seemingly less inquisitive, and the show has suffered for it. Still value in listening and supporting the show when compared to the media landscape, but it is a disturbing trend.

It looks like @adam has forgotten that V4V goes both ways. Perhaps the lack in funding is a result of many seeing less value in the show then before? With the economic pressure we are all under, how about working more to increase the value the show brings first as opposed to complaining about the funding level?

@harvhatSure we can do that. As I have stated before, Adams demeanor has changed significantly over the past year. He is at times a bigger curmudgeon than John, which has a negative impact on the dynamic and interplay between the hosts.The more important thing is the quality of the research and deconstruction has gone down significantly. Much more quick to be dismissive of points of view and seemingly discard pieces of information out of hand.

@harvhat I answered your question about what I “wanted to see” different. I can provide more details in follow up posts, but as you said your not the one that needs to know. I never said I get “no value” from the show, but was expressing a change I have seen that may be contributing to the drop off in funding.The dismissive attitude you have shown in your response is similar to what I am seeing more and more in the show from Adam, which is the reason for my recent posts.

@bufordk You may be referring to Steady State, which was an option in Windows XP. Unfortunately it was not supported in later versions of windows.Back in the day some libraries I worked with were using a third party product called Deep Freeze on Win 7 machines, but not sure if that is still being sold anymore.
