Gee, if only there were a video hosting site that hit the trifecta of being non corporate, easy to use and had good moderation tools. *Slams beer*Ok but what if we create a worker's coop that does various web development and technical support jobs? Like a community could hire the coop to run a mastodon instance for them and the co-op members would have accounts there just so they could do basic admining and moderation tasks and the server would be a server the coop owned?Maybe we could have a federation of these coops and the others in the federation could store backups in their servers just in case.

I think we need an "appropriate medicine" movement, or something along those lines.We're stuck with an increasingly ridiculous situation where culty herbal remedy yahoos are making insane claims about what essential oils can achieve when, let's be honest, there's only a few things their good for.But because of those quaks, anyone who actually knows medicine has to be on the defensive and constantly on edge about ANYTHING that's strays from the "Normal protocol" even though we're now starting to create super drug resistant bacteria from overuse of the wrong thing.What I'm saying is Vaccines for measles, herbal tea and honey for mild colds, COME ON people let's start getting this crap right.

@DissidentKitty I kind of like the joke idea of "Anarco-Monarchism" where the only function of a hereditary monarch is to ensure no other form of government emerges. We're at the point I'd have a hard time saying that would be worse.
