@cybette my friends guided the haircut process over Zoom. We were all at least tipsy, it was well after dark, and I was sitting next to a campfire. We thought the results were pretty good at the time, but in the morning light it looked like week-old roadkill was stapled to my head.

@enigmatico not to mention one of the kids had to stand next to the set holding their hand on one of the rabbit ears if you wanted to watch anything on channels 6 or 11 while it was raining outside.Ah, the good old days.

@Jonathan @wauz @mur2501 mussels are mollusc shellfish, kind of like clams. Some are tasty, some are an invasive menace (for example, zebra mussels). Their shell is usually pointy at one end, rather than symmetric like clams. They're found in both fresh and salt water.

A couple of weeks ago I broke my personal "never ever buy anything from Amazon ever" rule and ordered a spool of cheap ass Amazon filament because (a) I desperately needed black PLA, and (b) they could get it here two days faster than anyone else.And spent more than a week fighting with stringing and clogs and jams and adhesion issues, which I though was all due to my inexperience with 3D printing, but in the end turned out to be that crappy ass filament.

It's been raining pretty steadily here for the past 48 hours or so, about 100mm since the start of the storm.Doggo2 does not like to get wet, but... she has figured out that if she goes outside for a bit and gets wet, when she comes back in she will get a vigorous towel massage. So she asks to be let out, stands on the deck for a few minutes, then bashes back into the yurt, stands next to where the towels are drying near the fire, and alternates between looking at me and casting Meaningful Glances towards the towels.
