For January in #Minnesota it was a gorgeous day for a #bicycle ride, 15F, bright sunshine and no wind. So today I took my FatBoy and Burley Nomad for a grocery store run. I am getting my strength back because I was able to pull the fully loaded trailer back up the hill where I live, and did not feel winded at the end. If I still feel good later this afternoon, I will then try a longer ride tomorrow. #cycling #BikeLeans #BikeTooter

#BikeLeans memories: During the Pandemic in 2020-2021 our local bike club, in lieu of their social #bicycle rides, picked up a game from a club in Minneapolis called "Bike Tag." You would photograph your bike somewhere (hopefully interesting) in #RochMN, post it on social media and then the other club members would be challenged to find and ride to that spot. The first getting there would then get the privilege to post the next "tag." Here's one of mine of a mural at a brewery.#BikeTooter

@lowqualityfacts I was on duty in IT support at a large corporate data center ready to respond to all the issues. It was the most boring night of my life. Good thing we had some board games and a deck of cards. 23 years later, I'm still not grey. Well my beard is but only recently.

@clive Was the original LP called "Chipmunk Punk?" because my then girlfriend (now my wife of 42 years) had the vinyl LP. It was a good chuckle then even at 33 & 1/3 rpm. I know it had "Refugee," "Good Girls Don't" and "Call Me."Now after Christmas I'll have to dig in the basement to locate it.

#BikeStreak Day 53:Finally! A PERFECT day for a long road #bicycle ride! Upper 60'sF, light winds, sunny skies, blossoming trees, birds singing. Everything is good in the world!I rode out to Plainview and had lunch there. I rode the Great River Ridge State Trail, past Carley State Park, through Viola twice, and down the Quarry Hill trail for 56 miles. Lots of folks are enjoying this beautiful Sunday afternoon to ride their bikes on the trails too.#BikeLeans #BikeTooter

#MSTRAM Day 3:Today we rode our #bicycles from Faribault to St Peter for 48 miles. The majority of the route was via the Sakatah Singing Hills State Trail from Faribault to Madison Lake and then county roads for the remainder. The weather was pleasant, partly cloudy and light wind in the upper 60'sF, nearly ideal.Tomorrow we ride a loop, so an easier day without breaking or setting up camp.#BikeTooter

@ascentale @rowmyboat @bikenite #BikeNite A4:The one cycling related thing I wish I knew how to do is set up and maintain tubeless tires. I keep putting off how to learn. I'm too content using tubes, so I haven't taken it on.

@ascentale @djuber @bikenite #BikeNite A6:I actually use clean snow from the front yard (if there are sufficient amounts) and use the clean snow to rub off the crud before bringing the bike into the garage. But that's because it is usually too cold here in Minnesota to rinse the bike (unless you want an iceberg for a bike).

@ascentale @IoanSaid @hyenachow @bikenite #BikeNite A2:The brand I have an emotional attachment to is Schwinn, a company established in the city of my birth, Chicago, and the brand of the first 4 bikes I owned. When in high school and a golf caddy, I caddied for Frank Schwinn who was the CEO of the company at the time.Of all the bikes I owned, the 1967 Schwinn 26" Typhoon Coppertone was and still is my favorite.

@ascentale @bobjonkman @CharlesSites @bikenite #BikeNite A4:Four of my five bikes have Presta, one has Schrader. I just prefer Presta because that's what I deal with a ride most. The one with Schrader, my Brompton, is a bit problematic as with the narrow space between spokes, I can't use my usual pump head, and the one I have that works is a pain to screw onto the valve. I need a better pump head for that bike. Suggestions?
