@niebezpiecznik niestety, ale w Polsce mastodon ledwo istnieje.Namówiłem firmę znajomych z branży turystycznej na wystartowanie profilu na Mastodonie, wrzucili kopię posta z Facebooka z całą kolekcją hashtagów i... praktycznie żaden z nich nie miał postów z ostatniego roku. Wiele hashtagów całkiem pustych. Brak wyszukiwania po tekście blokuje znalezienie podobnych profili. Jeden wielki klops.

@drgeraint Isn't black and grays the same as magenta? On a wavelength spectrum they all are describes by the lack / lowered presence of something, rather than a specific wavelength.

They are easily perceived by silicon as well, so do animals (e.g. hummingbirds).What we call #FF00FF is purely a human construct, but the ability to perceive blacks, grays, magentas, etc. is nothing special."Would animals with different cones in their eyes still perceive the same colours"- How would you tell? AFAIK they do perceive a diff between Mag. and Red or Blue - but can't find any paper on the topic via quick search.

Adults very much share the same behaviour.There's a lot to take in here regarding the #politicalscience and how confident but clueless people often go to the top, while truth gets buried.Or in the commercial markets - how "optimistic schedules" get people more hyped up than the honesty does. Or how the Musk constantly get a pass for "self-driving cars coming next year" every year since 2014, even though experts say it might not be possible within a decade.

Apparently quote-posts were against the principles of Mastodon (until they weren't) but making decisions about the development in secret and having an entire ticketing system hidden from public isn't against 'the principles'. 🤦♂️And their github issues log seems to be almost completely ignored, even though it's just 35 tickets/week, perfectly manageable.

@selea @atomicpoet @fediversenews that's because people *are* confused when choosing the server.Personally know people who bounced off that step.Also being defined by just 1 community is silly for most people. Even if servers would be communities (which they are not) I would be totally puzzled on which one to choose as there's many things that interest me with little overlap.And that's before we start talking about moderation and long-term reliability of these, often small, servers.

There are still countless politicians, organisations, universities, heck: even some of the scientific paper publishers ask you for your twitter handle by default, without asking for handle or any other platform.
