       @stux I have a relative part of whose job is delivering tutorials to students of around 16 or so on equity and diversity. Recently they recounted running one on LGBTQ+ awareness - the lesson basically being little more than "Please don't be garbage humans at other people because they're LGBTQ+".Their face when they described the absolutely unbridled, undisguised and entirely conscious LGBTQ+ hate from the class... I could've cried just seeing that expression. 😞

       @lamp @nathan I sometimes think we're more committed to hurting each other than to standing together in the face of efforts by others to hurt us.I agree with Nathan. I'm seeing people ripping into people for playing the game when it should be starkly obvious they're not all, or even mostly, "the enemy".But honestly, if we can't manage to exchange rational ideas like "maybe don't gun for everyone indiscriminately" without turning on each other, this is all hopeless.
