@LostInCalifornia I was all "live and let live" until I actually read the article. Now I'm ragey.Where to begin? RS says she’s “not arguing on points of law” but wants to establish some “points of principle.” “The first principle to establish is that an expectation of women’s compliance with rigid gender normative dress codes in the workplace is unacceptable. Therefore any legal case, on whatever grounds, determining that there is an acceptable gender-based dress code is hugely problematic.”That’s not what the case is about. It’s about whether a man “assigned male at birth,” but now identifying as a woman, experiences “sex discrimination” when required to conform to a male dress code. It is NOT a suit challenging dress codes. So her “first principle” is not even in play here. Please understand the case, Ruth, before you begin pontificating. Our own @elizabeththeradicalfeminist explains the nuances of the case clearly here:https://spinster.xyz/@elizabeththeradicalfeminist/posts/102949534031441543But nuance is apparently not Serwotka’s strong point. Of WoLF’s alliance with the Christian group Family Policy on a previous case (which RS doesn’t name), RS says, “A more perverse or problematic alliance could not be imagined.” If she spent five minutes checking into the matter, she’d know that when Hands Across the Aisle held its first public discussion, members of both sides were at great pains to emphasize that they had strong differences on many other issues. All RS seems to understand is GW Bush’s simplistic notion of “You’re for us or against us.”I’d also like to ask RS whether WoLF’s alliance is “more perverse” than hers with Debbie Hayton, who helps to write policy requiring children to address their male teachers as female if those teachers identify as women, and to apologize if they fail to do so? Don’t get me wrong, I applaud the work of WPUK and have avidly watched every video. But I don’t see them as having “purist” principles, either. If they’ve made a political calculation that having a trans identified male in their camp, advancing his interests, helps their agenda, so be it. Wouldn’t be my choice, but I won’t drag them for it. (Altho my heart is with Mrs Hayton)Too bad RS won’t do the same for us. “There is always a choice involved and these actions are not about tactics but principles. ‘Any safe harbour’ is not an excuse to work alongside our enemies. ‘My enemy’s enemy is my friend’ is not a strategy. It is disingenuous to say that this coalition emerges from unhappy coincidence. It is a political choice by some women in the gender critical movement to make common cause with the US Trumpian right. As such, it must be opposed.”Outrageous exaggeration - WoLF et al are not "making common cause" with Trump - how dare you?? Fuck you and the high horse you rode up on, RS!!! Who the fuck are you to oppose feminists in the US??? Especially when you have a fox in your own hen house. Maybe you ought to attend to your own problems before lecturing women in other countries.

@LostInCalifornia @Pricey @LangCleg It's not "siding with the right" to agree on limited issues. And "seen" by whom? You haven't said. I said above there are certainly groups who are not "on the right" who don't see it that way. Much of the general public doesn't, either. As I keep saying on this site, it's primarily OTHER FEMINISTS who are bitching about it. And people on the left who are down with the trans agenda.Further, I'm to the point where it's becoming offensive to suggest that all conservative women are "the devil." Many, many women supposedly on "my side," the supposed progressive left (such as it is in the United States) are more of a danger to women and girls when it comes to trans issues.

@LostInCalifornia @Pricey @LangCleg Would you squander your credibility here, with Elizabeth Warren?"Preston, who is now openly transgender, authored several tweets which arguably expressed various degrees of misogyny but which definitely cut against Democratic Party orthodoxy on a woman’s right to choose an abortion. In fact, Preston explicitly expressed pro-life sentiments.A Tweet from October 5, 2011 reads: “Don’t have #abortions ….people spend thousands yearly trying to experience the miracle of a child. #ProAdoption #GOHARDPRODUCTIONS.”A Tweet from September 17, 2011 reads: “I get so upset when slut bitches constantly get pregnant and much away on abortion pillz like cheetos… Pregnancy is #kindofabigdeal.”https://lawandcrime.com/high-profile/elizabeth-warren-under-fire-as-campaign-surrogates-racist-homophobic-tweets-come-to-light/

@Feministroar <<<I'm not going to attack another woman for choosing a different path. Disagreement doesn't need to mean war.>>>This is generally my default. Just getting fed up with the relentless attacks on WoLF. I wasn't even that far into their camp until others ostensibly on our side started giving them a beat down. And the nerve of a feminist in one country advocating opposing feminists in another country! It all got to me tonight.

@rose <<<I'm beginning to think that there are some women on here who are so focused on trans issues that they have forgotten about feminist issues, if they ever thought of them at all.>>>I think trans is the central issue, Rose. If a woman is anyone who says they are, we lose the ability to advocate as a class for issues important to females. If trans identified men can compete in women’s sport and be counted as women in STEM fields, for example, what is the impact on women’s hard won economic gains? Trans are also pro porn, pro prostitution (ever notice how they always chant “Sex work is work” along with “trans women are women”?) and argue that pregnant “people” need abortions and (simultaneously) that it’s “cis privilege” to need one. Women can’t even talk about their medical issues anymore, without being requested to refrain from doing so or using euphemisms so as not to “trigger” men who identify as women. In the UK, such men, who do NOT have cervices, are wasting the time and resources of medical professionals by turning up for smear tests/pap smears. At every turn, trans ideology and policy directly impacts all feminist issues.

@alex If they want the same advantages and preferential treatment they get on twitter; e.g. having exaggerated (and sometimes non-existent) claims that "violence" is being promoted taken seriously, they should just stay over there. @TranimeGirl @MirandaYardley @Corinna @LorenAmelang @katymontgomerie @socialistenby @Lennart @Meeker

@Moonbuggy I often think they can't be this stupid; that it's just their turn to take a dive. As it was for the Republicans when McCain-Palin ran. Does anyone remember a meme or graphic using the restroom symbols, but showing a trans woman pushing away a woman? IIRC it had a man restroom symbol, man in dress with penis symbol, with man in dress pushing away dress/woman symbol. Please point me to it if you know where I can get that.By restroom symbol/sign I mean like this:

@Vajazzledvagina How does it help lesbians to allow the trans policy and legislative juggernaut roll on unopposed by refusing to form LIMITED COALITIONS with conservatives to start pushing back? It seems to me lesbians were hurt first, and continue to suffer more in some ways (e.g. "cotton ceiling") than straight women by the trans agenda. The good news is there is now a viable option because FIST, which refuses such coalitions, has written proposals for amending the Equality Act. Honestly, I'm thrilled about it and am getting in touch with them. However, almost any piece of legislation requires coalitions to get passed. So it will be interesting to see how they navigate that.Meantime, take good care of yourself, Cindy! We 💕 you.https://feministstruggle.org/

From Lierre Keith's AMA on r/gendercritical:https://www.reddit.com/r/GenderCritical/comments/dc104z/ama_with_lierre_keith_i_am_lierre_keith_radical/f25d28d?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2xWhen I was 16, my mother gave me Mary Daly's Gyn/Ecology for my birthday! True story! The glorious results stand before you. From Daly, I found Dworkin, and then the whole cannon. I read everything feminist I could find and all the pieces came together. Those were amazing times, in the early 80s. We still had bookstores, women's centers, and women-only feminist events. All the theory and research about gynocentric goddess cultures was also deeply nourishing--it hasn't always been like this! And a nice dose of feminist utopian literature--some better written than others--but all of it felt like an opening. WomanSpirit journal was amazing. Learning about these magical places called "womyn's land" filled me to bursting. We had a whole world we were creating--we can do it again.
