@interfluidity Yep. The .NET team is great. Xbox stopped being so childish and annoying. Windows was stable and simple again with v10.Then they had to fuck it all up with AI.(And that's coming from someone who loves AI!)

@interfluidity Honestly, notepad is pretty solid imo.The next level up would probably be something like VS Code or Notepad++. They might be a little overkill, but they'll leave room to grow.

I have a client who uses Unity and recently passed the threshold for Unity's free license, so they had to upgrade. They asked me if we would get any improvements from the upgrade that we could use for their software that I'm building.I had to tell them that they were being required to pay $2000 a year for the right to remove the Unity splashscreen, and that's about it. 🤦♂️ At this point, the Unity Engine is running only on momentum. It's just a matter of time before it crashes and the company dies.

@interfluidity @Geoffberner Good policy can have a long lead time, I agree.But that's exactly why it needs to rest on the shoulders of the party as a whole instead of a single temporary-by-definition presidential administration.Biden's (and, more specifically, his campaign staff's) primary job is to keep his party's administrators in place long enough to carry out the party's policy, by getting (re)elected.If he and his team can't do that, as it's increasingly seeming like they can't, then the party needs to swap them out.

Most internal regime changes only shift a few issues and aren't major upheavals of the platform (R2016, obviously, being the exception to that rule).But either way, the detriment to long-term policy from a dem regime change is dwarfed by the catastrophe of an electoral loss, and the Biden team just doesn't really seem to get that, as much lip service as they pay to it.
