@Jim pretty goodGameplay is like: "Okay, I can't kill this Paladin and his crew at this level but what if I get into the second storey, destroy the ladders so they can't get up to me, place down an explosive barrel to start the combat with a bang..." Lots of that sort of stuff. One time a cutscene played and a baddie was clearly about to do a bad thing so I used the start combat button before he could do that in the cutscene. My other CRPG experience consists of DOS:2, Arcanum and Wrath of the Righteous. Among those, BG3 is the king so far. But I am only in Act 1 so who knows

@mushroom_soup I dunno, I am considering the same scenario but with just a hoop instead of a portal and that would be a plop situation.Can't really see how it would be different for what's essentially a hoop connected to a different place

@cassidyclown @mushroom_soup I dunno if there are some special physics considerations for that, just intuitively it doesn't seem like it would matter to methen again, some of the other comments seemed to imply that the portal dynamics essentially can't be modeled with standard issue physics

@mushroom_soup Thinking about this while walking the doggo kind of blew my mind. I always thought when people said "a female mind in a male body" it was understood as a thing arising as a consequence of some faulty wiring in the brain/body. But this person evidently believed that the human mind - or at least the gender part of it lmao - is effectively, well, a soul. Something that shouldn't be affected when the brain falters. They genuinely had to grapple with understanding that a disease affecting the brain could possibly affect the 'gender identity' of a person. Is ALL of this modern gender stuff just... hokey low-quality spiritualism?
