@THOMSOTRON Oh definitely, you've always gotta start from somewhere. :DThis is a picture of part of the electronics area that I can rumage around and see what's there, I'll just ask whoever's in the electronic group about the quick and dirty. Tbh from what I've noticed there are all sorts of different people, like when I first arrived there was a guy leaving and I asked which was the correct button for the buzzer and he crumpled up like a piece of paper saying he didn't know and it was his second time there. Whereas there are people there who are pretty comfortable with talking with whoever's there. The lady giving the tour seemed a bit anxious and overwhelmed because she said it was the biggest group of people she had ever seen but when she's in her element she seems okay from what I can tell. So yeah, we're probably all socially anxious nerds in some way or another haha but it's been nice from what I've seen. I think I'll be fine as long as I don't touch other people's stuff or tamper and as long as I don't break anything as well. ❤️ 😅

@THOMSOTRON it's only an area of many different areas too. For what it is, they've done well to set it up and keep it running. I think I could learn a lot from spending some time there, eventually I'll only be limited by time, skill and imagination. 😅I'm hoping to get training in the sewing machines and eventually the laser cutter and CNC machines, then I think I'll be okay for a while but there's always more to get into in wood working, metal work, welding, etc. I always wanted to get into electronic repairs though and fix up sown spares ans repairs...I might be able to do that now!

Yay, someone claimed the wax! I can get some of my space back! I might bring the box I stored it in and put it in my user storage area. I think the best way to identify it's mine is to put Dreamspace Ken's name on it but also slap some stickers from my chooms Revengeday and Emi! :cyberheart_cyan:

I forgot today was a bank holiday, so I didn't turn my alarm off. It's just as well, I am sure I would have forgotten to turn it back on for tomorrow.My plans for today consist of going down to the hackerspace for some more inductions and to meet some more friendly faces. Get the social bits out of the way then I can be a semi-helpful loner. I didn't anticipate visiting as much as I have between signing up and helping to clean up next Saturday. I don't know what it is but I feel like when I speak I either can't say words anymore or I say something stupid so I'm better off quiet. :oh_no_blob:

@stux when I left the bird, I noticed this pretty quickly. No polarising algorithm. People hate being wrong and the rage bait is part of what keeps people on those platforms. They monetise the polarity of opinions and it's pretty sick imo. We won't be a hive mind here but any time someone disagrees it does feel more organic. I love this place.
