@kjr I really hope this is the push to bring more people from #reddit to the fediverse. It seems that #lemmy is not a very attractive alternative to many migrators due to the open political stance of the developers (although some really nice instances exist, such as #beehaw), but it is sad if a big chunk of people join sites such as squabbles.io which is not part of the fediverse and IIRC it is not open-source.#kbin is a really nice alternative which is constantly being developed!

@kjr Agreed! Does take a bit of patience though, the developer has his hands full of work and there is quite a few things that need to be developed, for example you can't collapse comments in a thread. But he has said that he is working on it.

@kjr Me too, and the developer is apparently working on it as well. There is a demo video of the app on kbin.pub

The #fediverse version of #reddit r/place open #canvas on #lemmy has just ended and it looks beautiful! To those who don't know: Each logged in user is allowed to place one pixel on the canvas per minute (or 30 secs? don't remember exactly) and a lot of users took part in creation of this! Here's a lemmy thread about it: https://lemmy.world/post/2791182#digitalart #fun #interesting #fun

@lps I haven't used either in a loooong time but last time I did that I had the most success with exporting and importing either way with .step file format. Unfortunately other file formats didn't work very well back then.

@eighthave @nanoelquant This is not true in Finland's case. Soviet Union tried to Invade Finland and partly succeeded and took a big chunk of Finland. Finland fought back with the help of Sweden and was an Ally of the axis powers (Yes, Nazi Germany). The fighting back was enough to cause Soviet Union enough damage that the Soviets decided not to advance further.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Winter_Warhttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Continuation_War
