Anecdotally, every person I know who's cut off people who were harmful to them has found more fulfillment even if things are harder for them. Like chosen family, chosen struggle seems to be easier to live with than a struggle that thrives on disempowerment.

Intersectionality is hard. I often see people criticize a group that's diverse, but all white, then you look and their diverse group is full of BIPOC people, but all cishet. Both kinds of diversity are bad places to stop.

The former is likely to give broad leeway to racists, while the latter is likely to give broad leeway to queerphobes. And both will be completely oblivious because no one in their circles feels safe bringing it up.

I was skeptical about all this computational photography stuff, but even the 48MP raws that come out of the new phone are cleaner than the raws that come out of my 24MP APS-C DSLR.Now add ProRAW where it embeds AI-derived tone maps of objects in the DNG, in an extension they worked to add to the standard so it's not more proprietary junk...

"ProRAW" is a marketing term. It's just DNG 1.6. I assume Samsung and co will implement it in their own way and call it something else.

@shoeberto This really does feel different from all the past Twitter->Mastodon exoduses. All those were situational: Twitter burped, and a few tens of thousands of people showed up. This time represents a fundamental shift in the nature and operation of Twitter that no one can predict, and it seems like the flow out is steadier due to that uncertainty.People who wouldn't push past the difficulty previously are coming in and making it work because the alternative is abandoning microblogging.
