@comrade_lecter @PlusMakesPosts I honestly think you’re taking this far too personally. I’m not going to keep repeating the demographic I’m discussing. Just because something incrementally discusses a demographic you happen to be a part of (which again, is a reach), doesn’t mean I’m discussing you. The post was about a specific demographic of majorly cisgender women attempting to reclaim the f slur online and how that makes me personally uncomfortable. Get over yourself.

@comrade_lecter @PlusMakesPosts *even* if I were to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume a demographic that base their identity on a “pronouns don’t equal gender” and a non conformative view of femininity (which is valid, but does not make these self identified afab women trans), are secretly transgender people (which is what you’re saying, and goes against the explicit self identification of quite a few people), fag is a slur used against majorly masculine presenting people, specifically gay and bisexual men (cis or trans). They cannot reclaim the word, as they are not part of that demographic? Why is that so difficult to comprehend??

@se7en @csfmd23 did you not read the part where this is also applicable to people wanting to be older? Also, none of this is sexual lol - if you read it as that, that’s your issue

@laura @TheSomebodies ehhhh. While I agree being vegan is great and something to aspire to, being poor makes it so inaccessible.

@laura @TheSomebodies Not in the UK it isn’t - you can get a 6 pack of sausages (which can feed two people, and make sandwiches for a lunch the next day) for a pound. And it’s the veganism part that annoys me. Because were I to buy a block of cheese (1:25), a cucumber (1:00), butter (1:25), eggs (let’s say 2:50 for a big pack), sausages (1:00-1:75), potatoes (1:00), rice (1:00) and tuna (3:50) that’s (healthy) meals for an entire week, for around 15 pounds, at a high estimate. Whereas were I to have to substitute these meals with non animal products, the majority would be unavailable to me, meaning I literally wouldn’t be able to eat.

@laura @TheSomebodies yeah lol. It’s probably because the in the UK we have a lot of our farming fairly locally, meaning export costs are lower

@laura yeah see we have the opposite problem! Where most meat is either English or Scottish, but a lot of our vegetables come from warmer climates like Spain and Morocco

@spaceheater tbh I think blues clues have attempted to put the map flag in several animations? There’s been a couple of times the colours have been used, and to me it seems like more than a coincidence

@spaceheater while I don’t really follow the show, aside from the pride episode with the map colours, the colours of the map pride flag have been seen recurrently throughout the more recent seasons, often either close to one another or as part of a pattern. Allegedly, there was also a symbol that looked similar to either the boylover or nepio symbol shown on a character, alongside some (alleged) older map symbols being shown in the background of certain episodes. Again, this has all apparently been cut, and so there’s no way of verifying, but I saw multiple people discuss this with screenshots at the time (it looked a lot like the map flag in the screenshot I saw) - imo, if someone was attempting to subtly indicate their attractions without fear of recrimination, this seems like the most they could get away with realistically, so I definitely think there’s something behind it

@comrade_lecter Allegations of physical violence and bullying over a fracking vote in the Houses of Parliament, three important cabinet ministers resigned, and then this morning the prime minister resigned - also Boris Johnson is apparently attempting to run for office again

@laura This entire take is pure bullshit, and is bigoted to the extreme, alongside showing a fundamental misunderstanding of the way culture and religion intersect, and a lack of actual research into the religions you’ve specifically chosen to demonise. In what fucking world do you get to say the world would be better off without two specific religions???

@laura and yet despite only having experience with one religion, you choose to judge other religions and call them diseases, and to act as though you’re an arbiter of what religions are and aren’t “inherently harmful” as you put it.

@laura ah, because seeing a whole group of people as harmful is definitely a good thing. Stop trying to backtrack - in no way did I say that religion should be exempt from criticism, and I do support vehement criticism of religious institutions, but that’s an entirely different thing from saying these religions “spread like a disease” and that they are *inherently* harmful (and that the people who believe in these religions are inherently harmful)

@laura no you didn’t?? Re-read what you actually put down in that post, nowhere there did you mention that people who followed those religions were not inherently harmful. All you did put, was that the world would be better off without them, and that some religions are better than them, and a net positive to the world.
