@gamingonlinux I'll add Facebook groups to that as well.I was essentially forced to make a fake Facebook account just to join a huge group that is only on Facebook and has a ton of knowledge and experience.It's walled off to the rest of the internet and I didn't even know the group existed until recently.Old school forums are the way.

@boilingsteam Per the site... ''the launch of a Raspberry Pi-optimised version of Mozilla Firefox.''This has me VERY excited. In my opinion this should have been done a long time ago. In addition to the optimizations it also has Widevine support and can use the hardware for h.264 encoding/ decoding.

The #Sega IR 7000 Communicator #PDA.A few days ago my lovely kiddo (who inherited my game collecting habits 😂) happened to find two of these at a yard sale and snapped them up!These are much cooler devices than I had initially thought they would be but they are not terribly intuitive.Does anyone know where I can find a manual for these online? "data includes addresses, names, social security numbers."It's not a far stretch to assume the list also includes phone numbers & perhaps emergency contacts which would wrangle in others, like family members, that may not even be enrolled in Medicaid.This has been a major point which I have tried to make to many privacy impotent people that say they have nothing to hide.This is BASIC information that is being weaponized... Kennkarte vibes.

@Oregon_Pacifist Everyday something like this makes me feel older and older. 😂This is probably my overall favorite Batman film. It was a fantastic reboot with a great story and awesome locations. Then they threw in both Rutger Hauer and Ken Watanabe which helped push it to the top of the Batman movie list for me.

@boilingsteam That was a great write up!Some years ago I tried out all the different messaging apps like this on my phone and came to the same conclusion... Matrix.Unfortunately Element had some strange issues that I kept encountering and ultimately I quit using it.I had no idea the app had been split into two different versions. At some point I'll need to give it a try again.

@repeatro Nice trivia! I had no idea that these games were outsourced. The first Mega Man game for Game Boy was the only one that I ever owned as a kid. I had several friends that were really into Mega Man and I loved watching them play the games but myself, I couldn't do it. I found them so crushingly difficult that I actually broke my first Game Boy in a fit of rage over the game. Lol It was at that point I decided I would appreciate the Mega Man games through others.

@Philsan Oh wow! This looks really nice. I can't wait to see more. I remember purchasing my STE back in 2007 with the intent to develop some programs/ games for it. Almost 20 years later and I've done absolutely nothing. LOL Perhaps this Is what I was waiting for. 😁

@Oregon_Pacifist I remember at one point they actually closed social to new sign ups to force people to join other instances. I feel like they need to do this again or switch the default signup server to something else for at least a time.

@Oregon_Pacifist It's not terribly difficult to understand but It definitely takes a bit of education. It's part of what makes the Fediverse potentially so resilient and different from other services. I would argue that's more important now than ever.In the past I actually convinced a couple of people to sign up for Mastodon & attempted to explain the importance of choosing a different server but in the end they opted to just go with .social because it was the biggest. Education is hard. LOL
