@zudn DIY custom fonts is a PITA not even getting into the legal rights side. Typekit (now Adobe) is an option if you want to move from Google (fryingpan into fire). Also some of the font foundries have their own solutions to purchase their fonts for online use.

@zudn Depends. What are you "selling". Put your key "message" right up front. If your purpose it to promote "you" then do that (photos, bio, etc.). If your purpose is a venue for your ideas and writing then feature that.

@canonicalbrud I don't know. If you think about it and what it represents it could be argued that it is a positive message. No one visits a replica Athena in a replica Parthenon to worship! They visit to learn *history*. Athena is dead; relegated to history books, crumbling monuments, and recreations. Meanwhile Yahweh is alive and is now worshiped by Billions.

@NeikoCat without commenting on the ethics of your particular situation:"For whatever does not proceed from faith is sin" -- Romans 14:23Or in other words, it's not worth selling your soul for a job ... any job.

It's too bad Mike Pence isn't president. His letter today is a good take. Commitment to do the right thing. Well reasoned. Considerate of history. Honoring and honorable.

Would you run for your life or just stand on the beach as a gigantic tsunami rushed towards you? You’d run, right? Don’t be so sure.During the Boxing Day Tsunami, many vacationers just stood on the beach and watched as the ocean receded into a monstrous wave. The locals knew better. They ran as hard as they could. But some of the foreigners stood on the beach, stared in amazement, and were engulf in a deadly mass of water. Why didn’t they run? Why did they just stand there like a bunch of idiots?Because tsunamis weren’t a normal part of life in their country. They knew that tsunamis existed and that they happened in this part of the world. They, however, had never seen one. So they underestimated its danger and were slow to take actions. This has a name: normalcy bias.“A normalcy bias is a psychological state of denial people enter in the event of a disaster, as a result of which they underestimate the possibility of the disaster actually happening, and its effects on their life and property...""...Their denial is based on the assumption that if the disaster has not occurred until now, it will never occur.”Huge portions of the American church are underestimating and therefore under-reacting to the disaster that is racing our way. What disaster do I speak of?The aggressively de-platforming of conservatives from social media, servers, & payment services. This de-platforming is already starting to spill over into the “real world” in that hiring blacklists are being created by major media groups. If you’re on that list these groups will boycott your company until you are fired. They don’t just want to silence you. They want beat you into submission. Now do you really think this will stop just with political conservatives? If you do, you’re a fool. They're trying to silence & break anyone who undermines their worldview. The Christian view of sexuality, ethics, government, and worship etc are all at odds with the stated views of the de-platformers.We are a threat because words are powerful, particularly the Word of God.They'll try to silence the preached Word. It’s inevitable. Many churches have already canceled or restricted in-person worship. This was a wicked compromise. That'll become all the more obvious when they start to censor your streamed services for “hate speech” (e.g. Rom 1:18-32).And it won’t stop there. Your sermons will be removed from podcasts directories. The payment services will stop processing your tithes and offerings. They will get your leases canceled on the grounds you are a health and safety risk to the community. Are you awake, Christian?Do you see that not only has the ocean receded but it’s rushing back inland?Sadly, many pastors are standing on the beach telling their congregations its okay as we so-called “alarmists” scramble for higher ground. They do this for two reasons. 1st, because of the before mentioned normalcy bias. 2nd, because they are cowards & they intend to toe the line set for them by the de-platformers.Will you be washed away in an ocean of worldly compromise or will you jump into action?#asseenontwitter

@ChiaChatter I don't know of a single church in my whole city "openly" meeting in-person. I do know of a few illegal underground churches though ;)I'm not mad at the government. I don't think the are specifically attacking us. They are just doing their unregenerate thing.I'm really upset at the pastors/elders/shepherds though! I want to know what bible they are reading. I think my copy might be defective :(

@realcaseyrollins @ChiaChatter @josias Ya, of course they are. Look, I'm as libertarian as they come. However, my main concern is as a Christian and a pastor. I don't think we should be any where near as concerned about "our rights" as we are about responding rightly to the breach of our rights. Our Lord was tortured to death and we are told to expect nothing less.So yes, the government is 100% wrong. But IMHO so are the churches. The difference is the churches should know better! Scripture says don't give up meeting ... so just don't give up meeting. When you get down to it is not really that complicated.

@josias I got interested in Bitcoin way back before it was a thing. Back then there was a Bitcoin fountain that gave out free bitcoins. By the time I found it it gave you 0.05 Bitcoin every time you pressed a button. I pressed it twice, transferred 0.01 to another account, and forgot about it. That 0.09 was worth less than a cent at the time. At the peak though it became worth *a lot*! When I say I forgot about it that included the wallet key :(

@sneakI'm with you with the caveat that this only applies to numeric dates for things like data collection. In other contexts written dates *might* also be acceptable. When in doubt default should be yyyy-mm-dd.For example it is acceptable the have the date on a wedding invitation read "Wednesday, the thirteenth of Aprilthe year of our Lord two thousand twenty one"
