@stux looks very similar to the Nova Scotia March. #Cozy

@stux the is the most hyperbolic example of treat the symptom, not the problem, that I think will ever exist. And they will probably never understand why.

@EU_Commission @donmelton right, but what really needs to happen is companies starting to care about this. Grocery stores throw away monumental amounts of plastic wrap that is recyclable, and far more plastic than I use in months as a single consumer.

@stux I fully support this because things won’t change unless we stop encouraging and validating shitty practices. The public shouldn’t be guilted into paying a living wage for the employees of establishments.

@stux are you a game dev by trade or as a hobby? I’ve wanted to start for a long time but I’m already stuck in the Csharp/Unity vs C++/Unreal loop

@stux dang that’s super impressive for minimal hard coding. Honestly it probably doesn’t matter which one, I tend to get hung up on optimizing choices, so probably C++ is the right way anyways 😂

@JenniferJorgenson if you told me this was a Skyrim mod I would’ve believed you. It’s beautiful.

@stux As a native English speaker, it just boggles my mind that much of the world learns my language as well as their own. Yes we learn French, it’s poorly taught and rarely used, and most forget it.

@john for the majority of people it comes down to barrier of entry. Mastodon is inherently not as easy to start with as logging in with your existing Instagram account. Server selection, various apps, unclear terminology are all foreign info overloading for a lot of people.

@john You’re absolutely right, and it speaks to the challenges with federation in general. Who should be the one to voice that? Arguably it should be the server maintainers and/or app developers for mastodon as it’s in their best interest to keep people using them, but they probably won’t in any coordinated way.

@john I would argue that many severs blocking threads could be one driving factor for people leaving mastodon accounts. It sounds like either people don’t know they are able to connect with threads via mastodon, or they aren’t given the opportunity at all. I like it here, but this sounds like just a worse user experience all around.

@stux Creativity and quality will always be the final threshold for success in game development. As always, with the good comes the bad to balance it out.
